i have alot of fresh broccoli, can i freeze it as it is, or should i blanch them first? when i defrost them, will they be as nice as they are now?

I always clean and blanch them just slightly in salted water but they freeze well. I use a bit of lemon juice to prevent discoloration...drain well...also use more of the stem as it retains the crispness but the florets are slightly less crisp...also works on cauliflower.

Broccoli freezes well if blanched in lightly salted boiling water for about 1 minute and then frozen. When needed steam for 15 mins to keep all the colour and flavours

No idea, I wouldn't have thought anything would be as good after defrosting as prior to 'frosting' but then I could be wrong..

yes you can freeze broccoli......make sure you put in a freezer bag, and take the air out of the bag before sealing it...

they'll be fine. there are many types of broccoli that are easily frozen and eaten later. it's one of the most commonly frozen vegetables.
