The Guinness Book of Records, in its 1992 and subsequent editions, declared the "longest real word" in the English language to be floccinaucinihilipilification at 29 letters (More recent editions of the book have since aknowledged pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis). This word was assigned by my seventh grade teacher, way back in the 1960's. It's a disease of the lungs caused by microscopic particles of silica. It's also known as the coal miner's disease. Since part of the word is cut off in the question area - here it is again. (No dash in actual word, but site cuts it off otherwise.)
pneumonoultramicroscopic-
silicovalcanoconiosis

Sorry.....this word does not seem to qualify as 'longest' word....wikipedia has information that will dispute your question.

Two chemical terms (3,641 and 1,913 letters long) have appeared in the Guinness Book of World Records. They were withdrawn because they have never been used by chemists, and there is no theoretical limit to the length of possible legitimate chemical terms. A DNA molecule could have a name of over 1,000,000,000 letters if it was written out in full.
GLUTAMINYLASPARAGINYLTHREONYLPHENYLALANYLGLUTAMYLSERYLMETHIONYLSERYLGLYCYLLEUCYLVALYLTRYPTOPHYLTHREONYLSERYLALANYLPROLYLALANYLSERINE = Tobacco Mosaic Virus, Dahlemense Strain.
This word has appeared in the American Chemical Society's Chemical Abstracts and is thus considered by some to be the longest real word.
