Actually, there is no one disease of "muscular dystrophy".
Muscular dystrophy is actually a collection of dozens of different genetic diseases.
At the moment there is no cure and treatment is usually supportive - exercise, physiotherapy etc. For some diseases there are specific treatments available. For example, steroid drugs are used to treat Duchenne muscular dystrophy (probably the best known form of muscular dystrophy) and can delay disability and improve survival.
Other treatments can also help - many patients with muscular dystrophy have weakness of the breathing muscles, and breathing support with ventilation machines at night can significantly prolong life span and quality of life.
In the long term, a cure is not round the corner. However, there are many different research avenues being pursued, and in particular because of the fact that these diseases are largely genetic, gene therapy is one future option.
Hope that helps.

IF you meant muscular dystropy, MD, no. It is a degenerative disease that attacks the body's muscles, including involuntary muscles, such as the heart. It is a slow, deadly, and sad disease of which only some of the symptoms can be treated.
