How do you define "spiritually retarded people". Many would feel offended by the expression.
The feeling of spiritual Harmony (be in Christianity, Islam, or any religious experience) may release chemicals in the brain that can give a feeling and behavior similar to what some drugs offer. But it is safer, healthier, last longer (that is last an eternity) and certainly "cooler".

There is a saying in the bible, "father, forgive them, for they know not what they do."
People who are stressed out, frustrated, or uneasy about themselves, tend to take offence by the people who are the totally opposite.
I also believe that people who have discovered their special "spirituality" have usually acquired it via various natural processes such as yoga, meditation, breathing excercising such as the Sudharshan Kriya, or some other method. These processes always effect our harmonal behaviour and our bodies react to these. This behaviour changes are noticable in some. Often they may even give the appearance of being on drugs. It is just a natural high but those who do not know this, will percieve it differently. Why? Because thats exactly what they want to percieve. Call it jealousy, call it ignorance, call it anger. But thats what they do well, which is to react negatively
I would ignore this negativity and move forward. Forgive them, for they know not what they do.

I think you are refering to crunchies or hippies, and the reason as to why these people think they can find spiritual enlightenment through drugs is because they are too lazy to spend 10 years under a tree fasting, and meditating, or for that matter getting nailed to a cross. Hippies who fixate themselves on drugs are sort of like fat people who fixate themselves on eating diet food because that is how they heard you can get skinny. Sure they eat diet food but 10 times the reccomended amount and furthermore never get any exercise. Likewise hippies seem to get part of the equation right, but totally miss the point. Sure there are primitive cultures that do drugs, but drugs arent their whole damn religion. So fat people and hippies take heed, if there is anything worth doing it is worth doing right.

here's why - you said it your self in your question.
"those who hold truth" it is the fact that you use the word truth for something that is nothing more than faith. Truth means a proven fact to the intelligent and discerning. Faith is one thing and truth is another.
So, by all means believe what you like - that is every-ones right - just don't refer to it as the truth unless you want to sound like a crazy person.

It doesn't matter because people who are spiritually rich get rewarded every day of their life, while the spirtually poor are constantly seeking out things to fill the void in their empty lives (material crap).
It's also probably because they simply don't understand religion, and people fear what they don't understand.

For those who are led by the Holy Spirit, our beliefs are Truth. They have been shown valid or we would not believe as we do....well, I speak for myself.
People can think I'm on drugs--funny thing was I once was on drugs and my life was jumbled mess, confusion, etc.
Now, with God, I have clarity, things make sense and I have miracles and answered prayers...hmmmm...

If someone close her/his eyes, he/she make the world dark for him/herself He/she cannot darken the sun Interestingly when they close their eyes they would likw everybody should do or most probably doing the same. On the other hand we should persuade them to open their eyes (with proofs of believe) otherwise they will insist we are dreaming All the best :)
