83 beats per minute is normal. If you feel your pulse is racing and you can actually feel your heart pulsing then that can be due to stress.
If your pulse does not go beyond 83, I would not be worried.

Firstly 83 bpm is normal for any individual. A heart rate of >90 bpm would be considered as tachycardia. You say that your ECG is normal well that means you dont have problems with your heart rate when resting right. Now secondly it could be just a panic attack. But if you are so worried about it please go to your cardiologists and get a 2DEchocardiography done, this will tell us whether you have got a mitral valve prolapse or not, which even if you do have is not at all fatal condition. Secondly do get your thyroid profile checked and get your 24 hour Holter monitoring done.
Relax it may not be anything or most probably be a MVP which is a benign condition and you will slowly learn to live with it.

Are you feeling anxious when your heart is beating this fast? If it was a resting heart rate of 100+, that might indicate high-thyroid.
Do you smoke (will increase heart rate as it decreases oxygen levels, and your heart tries to pump more round)? Do you excercise at all (heart rate decreases due to the heart muscle being more efficient and being able to pump more blood round with each beat)?
83 bpm is a little fast....around 72 is considered 'normal'. You don't say how old you are though. I am 37 and my heart rate is around 57 at rest....but then I excercise regularly.
You know that if you're worried about it, you need to see the doctor.
Trouble with these things, the more focussed on them you become, the more anxious you become, and the heart rate increases. Try some relaxation techniques or yoga....you can search for either on Google.
Good luck!

As you have now said your heart rate is 114 bpm (resting?), I would suggest getting your thyroid levels checked. High thryroid levels can interfere with your sleep, make you over-active, mean you don't put on weight etc. Many things. Maybe Google 'hyper-thyroidism'?

80 beats a minute is quite normal. A little fast, but it's the irregularity of your pulse that should concern. If it varies a lot you should see a doctor. It could be anything from nerves to arhythmia, but it's probably just worry! Stress can do strange things to your heart. It's called fight or flight, or beta stress. You may need beta blockers.

There are many reasons for your problem but without knowing your age, weight, and general health, it is futile to pick out "reasons". The best answer you can have at this point is go see your doctor.

You don't say if you're on any medication. You could have some complications from a drug if you are taking one. I'd go and see a doctor as soon as possible. Good luck.

83 per minute is considered normal.
Only during exercise your heartbeat will rise to 100-160, depending on intensity.
A person's maximun is around 195.
So relax, grab another glass of water.

sounds like anxiety. but if it continues it would hurt to have it checked out by a cardiologist they can do an
ekg in the office which he can evaluate. diferent people run different heart rates 83 is not life-threatening but if you normally run slower rates it can feel like its going to pound out of your chest. but to reassure yourself have the doctor check you out!!! take care!!!
