The Farsi language is one dialect of a language more commonly known as the Persian language. The Persian language is most commonly found in spoken and written forms in areas such as Afghanistan, Iran, Tajiki, and other regions in this area. More than 110 million people speak Persian according to Wikipedia, but it is considered a secondary language in the world at present. We offer linguistic services for Farsi speakers and writers, but keep in mind that there are neighboring languages that have affected the language in both forms.

Farsi is known as 'Persian' in English, and is an Indo-European language; meaning it is in the same language family as English. So it's not Indian nor Asian.

Farsi is part of the Iranian sub-branch of the Indo-Iranian branch of the Indo-European Family. So it is related with Sanskrit, hindi, Urdu, Bengali, Punjabi etc. but not so closely as it is to Tajik, Pashtu, Yaghnobi, Ossetian, Luri etc.
There is no such thing as "Asian" languages. There are several language families on the Asian continent, VERY different from each other!

Farsi - also called Persian - is one of the oriental languages. It is a rich language by linguistics and other effects. The ancient state of Persia (the present Iran, Afghanistan, Kordistan and a vast area of present Iraq), the land of Rustom and Sohrab has been the house of this artistic language. This language has effects on Darri, Pashto, Urdu and Balochi which are spoken in Afhanistan and Pakistan. Specially Urdu ... the natinal language of Pakistan is the nearest offspring of Farsi.
Robayiat of Omer Khayam, and prose of Khalil Jibran have been translated in many of the contemporary language; are renowned all over the globe. Prominet poets of Farsi are: Hafiz, Roomi, Saadi, Omer and many others. One of most prominent poets (Iqbal) from Pakistan has also a high repute as poet of Farsi (Persian).
Thanks
