Did the bible ever say that heaven is actually in the sky?

I know there are some phrases like "and I looked up into the heavens" but I'm not a hundred percent sure. Good question.

It was once believed that the earth is in between two realms. Heaven and Hell. This was back in the day when people still thought that the world was flat and anything that was considered good came from up in the sky. Vice versa anything evil came from the abyss/hell. Passages in the Bible reinforced such thinking when priests would comment about Christ ascending to the heavens. Of course there is no physical location that we can point to when we talk about heaven. After all, it is the spirit that ascends to heaven and not our corporal bodies.

In 2 Corinthians 12:2-4, the Bible mentions being caught up into heaven and caught up into paradise, and in I Thessalonians 4:16, it states that "the Lord himself shall descend from heaven." So... other than ascending and descending, we really can't say exactly where heaven is located.

Heaven is up (beyond our sky, maybe beyond the stars).

One example was when Stephen was being stoned to death, he looked up and saw Heaven opening, and he saw Jesus standing at the Father's right hand.

but it does state that "the heavens and the earth..."; the context of heaven here refers to the sky. but heaven is not actually in the "sky"

no. but in many instances people were lifted of the ground by some entity, thus going upward.
skyward in other words.
everybody that witnessed it took it for granted that going up in the sky means going to heaven.
I find it strange that nobody ever freaked out when that happened.
if a UFO was to take me up now, i will be petrified.
heaven will be the last thing on my mind.

not to my knowledge , when god spoke unto moses he did so from the heavens , ie the sky so that would have given them a clue. after god spoke to moses upon the mountain ,the bible sad that he came down upon his triumph, and i did not think that motorcycles were invented then, ,just shows, you are to old to learn. regards LF

The Kingdom of Heaven is on the Far Side of the Moon. That's why we can't see it.
