Now, I don't have all the calculations worked out, but I have a deal/suggestion/take it as you will for those who are calculating the start of this cycle on/around Jan 1, 2000 and ending, oh, let's say Jan 1, 2009 to catch 'most everyone: If nothing happens, and we're still here, would you lend a hand with the carbon dioxide and methane (greenhouse gas) problem? It's gonna be a lot more obvious within a few more years, and we're gonna need every hand working to solve it we can get.
Thank you for your consideration.

Okay, Vicky, I'm glad you're relieved of that heavy load, but I couldn't find an answer in it. Care to rephrase it for the poor folk out here who are just planting orchards and putting up windmills?
Thanks.

Hey Babs!
Good point! especially when you stop to consider that Jesus, Himself, dosn't know when the end will come! If Jesus dosn't know the date, then, certainly, we aren't going to figure it out. Mark 13:32 says, "But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father." Perhaps some of us, Christians, have become so "Heavenly minded that we are of no Earthly good."
It is a sad state of affairs when those of us who spend so much time studying the Bible have to be told to apply it.

I don't believe in biblical prophesies. But I am concerned about the environment and cleaning the planet up, plus improving the standard of living for everyone (especially in the Third World).
No need to wait until 2009, start now if you haven't already. Good luck!

I do not pretend to know the day or the hour the word tells us that only the Father knows that. And every generation produces those that are called doomsdayers. I am not a doomsdayer however when we look at the things in the Bible from the book of Daniel and from Revelation also we can see many of these things taking form today.
For example... Famine in the time of plenty.... we have never had more resourses "food, materials ect" available than we do right now... however with prices sky rocketing people cant afford to buy it... its a time of plenty yet people are doing without all over the world.
The advancement of knowledge..... we have gone from riding horses to putting space vehicles on other planets in less than 100 years... this type of expansion of knowledge has never happened before now. There are many things taking shape in this world to show us that the prophecies of the Bible are coming to pass. Should we be afraid of that?? Only if we are not prepared for it. If your not prepared you or anyone reading this reply, dont wait another day.... Jesus loves you and wants you to be prepared for his return. He wants to provide for you and comfort you in the hard times this world has ahead. Believe me its going to get worse before it gets better... but when it does get better it will be out of this world!!!
If you dont know how to be prepared..... look to the Bible in Romans chapter 10 verses 9 and 10...... God bless and have a wonderful day :)

This is the time of The Last judgement... true, but God Almighty is not going to let His creation disappear from this planet altogether. there is going to be a selective destruction .. and that is what the judgement is all about. you have the freedom to choose the path that leads to His kingdom or follow your mind and end up in hell. All established relegions of the world may not provide the answer as we are all engrossed in following the rituals and have not discovered our true self. one can however find answers to these mysteries by discovering one's real purpose in life by attaining one's self realisation. this can be done spontaneously at www.sahajayoga.org.

No, Babs I don't.... but I'm starting to believe in global warming. I read recently that many of the Inuits in Alaska where installing air conditioners in their homes this summer.
Who's scripture are you referring too?
This is what the bible says about the end of the world... it was supposed to have happened within the lifetime of Jesus's listeners.
"Verily I say unto you, There be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the Son of man coming in his kingdom." -- Matthew16:28
"But I tell you of a truth, there be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the kingdom of God." -- Luke 9:27
"Verily I say unto you, All these things shall come upon this generation." -- Matthew 23:36
"Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled." -- Matthew 24:34
"Nevertheless I say unto you, Hereafter shall ye see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven." -- Matthew 26:64
"Verily I say unto you, That there be some of them that stand here, which shall not taste of death, till they have seen the kingdom of God come with power." -- Mark 9:1
"Verily I say unto you, that this generation shall not pass, till all these things be done." -- Mark 13:30
"And ye shall see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven." -- Mark 14:62
"Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass away, till all be fulfilled." -- Luke 21:32
"Jesus saith unto him, If I will that he tarry till I come, what is that to thee?" -- John 21:22
They above contradict about 1/2 dozen other accounts that say it will happen during the lives of the authors of the new testament and they also contradict the other 1/2 dozen or so accounts that it will happen soon (within the next 2000 years, which is about now as you suggest)... however my point is that it didn't happen then and it's not happening now.

I do believe that we are in the end times, but why ask the question in the first place? If you are forgiven by Jesus , then you have nothing to worry about. you must remain vigilant to yourself, your family, your friends, but most of all to God and to follow what he has asked of us.
