Is he homeschooled?
If so, you can re-design his curriculum to suit his interests better. What does he like? Cars? Horses? Music? You can design your curriculum around this and his interest level will increase. Instead of Math about fruit, get math problems for him on how much hay to feed his horse and foal, or how much he'd need for the Bristol VA Nascar races for his Porsche. If he hates English literature, have him read things that do interest him, and write report or science project on them. He can build a small rocket, and report on the space program, visit the NASA website, etc.
If he is in regular school... I would need to know if he is disinterested at school as well as home, or if there are other issues contributing to this problem.
All kinds have interests...this is how you get them to concentrate, find out what he would rather learn and read about!

You should maybe say like if you do not do your homework or get a good grade on your test then you won't get to go here or won't get a toy from the store and candy. Try to take privileges away from your child, maybe say your friend can't come over if you don't pay tension to your studies.

Sounds like he might need a self teaching curriculum. I couldn't comprehend regular studies and I am a homeschool graduate and used self teaching curriculums like Saxon the whole way and graduated early as a result hope this helps.

well there is nothing to worry about because the children's mind are not steady enough or u can say that their mind is very fragile.
just tell him to follow a particular routine & everything will be allright.
& if he is able to follow that schedule then it will be very useful for him in the future.

make him do what he likes, encourage on the qualities he have, talk to the principal of the school and fail him(secretly) --then pinch him on his ego, impart edu in such a way it becomes interesting and not boring/overloading/embarassing.
