Why don't you get her a ring that is within your budget for now and then when you start making those big bucks you can always go and get her this other one.
Going in debt for a ring is silly. If she loves you then the size of the diamond in that ring is not going to matter.
And if it does, then I would be wondering if she is marrying you for YOU or for money.

Your money would be better spent paying for your education and or a home to live in.

If you are still in school, you shouldn't be dealing with getting engaged or married yet. Waiting around is ALWAYS an option.

You're not likely to make any big bucks, by the way, if you can't even spell the word "propose."

Furthermore, you can get engaged without a ring, and married without a ring. They are not required.

What IS required is some maturity, and some decent financial footing for both of you, which you're even less likely to achieve if you buy an unecessary $10,000 ring.

A $10,000.00 ring is ridiculous. You can not afford it and it IS NOT worth going into debt over. As a woman, I can tell you that I would be LIVID if my fiance spent that much on a ring knowing he didn't have the money to pay for it. And you don't have the money.

I would suggest getting her a nice ring - maybe around $1000.00 so you don't go broke now. You can get a gorgeous engagement ring for that price... and then you can UPGRADE later. Plenty of people do that. In fact, I know many people that couldn't afford a ring at all when they got engaged and then later in life their husbands surprised them with a gorgeous ring when he could afford it.

If your girl only cares about the price of the ring (and the size of the rock) she is NOT worth marrying. If she doesn't care, then let the sentiment of the engagement be more than enough to thrill her.

This is what you do, take the money you have and go to the jewlyer store and buy her a nice ring for $300-$500 make sure the ring has the matching band, you propose to her and if she says yes, then 5 -10 years later you buy her another ring not a wedding ring cause once you married you cant change rings, but just buy her the ring you really wanted to give her let her know that was the ring you wanted to give her from the beginning.

I don't reccommend taking out a loan,
you can get her a nice ring for $2000, why does it have to be $10,000? I know she is special to you, but i think it is a waste of money to buy a ring that costs that much - besides it is a hassle if you have to get insurance on it and all that.
You could propose to her at a romantic dinner/beach/flowers etc. and say that she can choose the ring. If you really want to spend $10, 000 dollars on her - tell her that you will buy her another one when you finish school and are making more money.

There is loans (many jewlers have financing), but I am not sure if it makes much sense to spend that much money. Try getting a cheaper ring, and getting a very nice ring for your first (or second, or 5th) anniversary- whenever you have the money. That is romantic, and it will give you something to look forward to.
Any sane woman values a loving and respecting husband more than bling.
If you want to look fancy, there is very nice Tiffany's engagement rings for $1500- and I mean nice- the design, the blue box, everything.

If you can't wait, get her a cheap ring now and, if you want, you can promise her a better ring for the wedding (if your engagement is long enough) or for a wedding anniversary (if you want to get married quickly). If you two love each other, the quality of the ring (or lack thereof) shouldn't stop either of you from getting engaged.

Frankly, I would be furious if my boyfriend took out a loan to buy me a ring. I'd dump him immediately because that would mean that his values and priorities are not compatible with mine.

But you can get a beautiful ring for $2,000.
My dad paid about $2,500 for his wifes ring and it has a real diamond.Big too.And it is set
in a flower. It gold too.You know if you two really love eachother truly You don't have to buy
a ring that costs $10,000.You can find a really
nice ring at a jeweler from anywhere between
$2,000 and $3,000.She will like it too.Now you
can mary her sooner then take a loan later and
find yourselves a place to live.

i'm sure you love her very much but buying a 10,000.00 ring is also not an option. you're only in school now.... don't already get into debt....
what if you don't make big bucks right away?

i'm sure she'll understand if you buy a ring that's not very expensive. who knows... after you're married and after you start earning those big bucks, you can buy her a gorgeous ring and re- propose to her... it can be very romantic!

Get what you can now. This is not a good time for you to get into unnecessary debt. The ring will be a reminder to her of the early days of the relationship when things were tight. Later, you can replace the ring, add stones to it or buy an anniversary ring.
