Would you stick your head in the dirt and pray or would you join the living and try to find a solution through that dirty word known as science?

I'd go with the efforts of science. Prayers and two bucks will get you a coffee at Starbucks.

first of all, there is no god (for me) so i would not believe he sent it!
now, if there was an asteroid heading towrds earth, i would probably be one of those people who will try to find a solution through science. but then again, i would much rather let the asteroid hit earth to kill everyone off. it would be the best day ever and i'd be celebrating the death of all living things!!!

Since the evidence points to it having happened before (more than once, the Mesozoic incident wasn't the first time a big one hit and check the theories about the origin of Luna) I would say that it is more than likely that it will happen again. Add to that the fact that there have been near misses within our lifetimes makes the case a bit stronger. But I would call it orbital dynamics instead of divine intervention.

Why bother with an asteroid. G*d destroyed the world with the invention of humanity. I'd stay with the living and do whatever I could to help stop it, though I suspect the people that will be doing something about it will shoot me when I try to get close enough to tell them why I'm poking around.

God is the source of everything--even science. That being said, I would believe it is coming because it is part of Gods scheme of his plan. In other words, everything has a time and place to happen. It was planned by God from the beginning.

I would advocate the attempt of humans to negate the catastrophe. If one believes in the existence of God then one must also assume that He also engineered human intelligence, which gave rise to the establishment of science. In a sense, God infused us with the power to protect ourselves using our knowledge and ingenuity. If our intelligence enbables us to survive, then so be it. If it doesn't, so it be. Either way Nature has run its course.

Well I wouldn't blame him if he did. The way this old world has gotten and the lack of love for God is terrible. God is very patient with all his children, because he hasn't put a end to all the wickedness yet........but he will.

If god sent an asteroid at this planet it would make him more of a murderer then he already is.

I wouldn't blame if God tested us through something like that. He can't flood us anymore, can he? I think I'd combine prayer and science. Did anyone say you can't use both?
