I'm curious, why is it, that for century's people have killed in the name of god, and only latly do we consider it to be insane, most people hate people who are muslim, even though there are different views on muslim. And what I always found interesting is why all these different people thought that "god" wanted them to "kill" or "convert" everyone else. I personally dont believe in god, so don't start patrinising me, I'm just wondering who can come up with the best sullution, and dont quote and bible or anything, I want your opinion. and dont start saying I should or give me reasons why I hsould believe in god, personally I believe a lot of people are delusional. I wont even read your answer if you start patrinising me.

Personally, based on everything I have read and studied I don't believe that people ever actually killed in the name of God. It was just a good excuse after the fact (or during). That's my humble opinion, but I say this because it brings me to answering your question.
The religions that believe that they are supposed to convert everyone generally have some line in their sacred texts that is misused and abused by those seeking power and control rather than the true spiritual interests of the people at hand. Folksinger Ani DiFranco said once "Every tool is a weapon if you hold it right." How very true! Religion is a tool that people use to reach their spiritual goals. Yet all throughout history we can see how those who were full of ego (which led to greed and lusting for power, etc...ego-centric stuff) have abused religion, have used it as a weapon. The truly devoted, the truly spiritual ones who practiced and practiced and were able to ignore the ego-centrics were able to transcend their own egos. Some examples: St. Terese from Christianity, Rumi from Islam, Ramakrishna from Hinduism, Siddartha Gautama from Buddhism, and so many others from all the religious/spiritual traditions.
So if it is the ego that is getting us into trouble, then it is the ego that we should focus upon. Mother Teresa of Kolkatta once said, "If we have no peace, it is because we have forgotten that we belong to each other." This is echoed by Sri Mata Amritanandamayi Devi, "The future of humanity depends on the choices we make. If we look back at history, we can find that all conflict originates from onflict within the individual. And what is the real source of this inner conflict? It is the lack of awareness of our true nature - the One Living Power within us of which we are all a part." The ego keeps us looking at ourselves as being seperate from everyone and everything else. "We can pollute the world because we are seperate from the world and it won't hurt us. We can hunt animals all the time, because if we over hunt them it won't have an effect on us. We can be violent and war with each other because it only effects those involved with the conflict. Etc." This is the thinking of seperation...this is the thinking of the ego. The "I" part of ourselves. And yet the truth is that we are all interconnected, we are all one. If we'd realize that we aren't seperated at all and that everything we do has an effect right back on us, then we'd be a bit better at how we interact with each other.
As a Hindu I strive to fulfill the highest aspect of the teachings of Hinduism and that is to see the divine spark within everyone. To put it plainly: to see God in everyone. And thus by seeing God in everyone, to treat them with the same respect, reverence, and dignity that I give to God. It's a big step and that requires a total attitude and perception change, but it's always work the effort and I strive daily to live this. It definately has a profound impact on how I interact with people.
Sri Mata Amritanandamay Devi says it best, "If we accidentally happen to poke our eye with our finger, do we punish the finger? No. We simply try to sooth the pain. Why do we not punish the finger? Because both part of us, both are ours. We see ourselves in both the finger and the eye. In the same way, we should be able to see ourselves, our own Self, in all beings. If we do this, we can easily forgive the mistakes of others. To be able to love and forgive others, seeing ourselves in them, seeing their faults as our own faults, that is the true spirit of religion."
But this is just my humble opinion. And I don't believe you have to believe in God to make this work. Just being able to see the interconnectedness of each other and treating people with real respect and true dignity, this I truly believe can make a difference in the world.
And I strive to, as Mahatma Gandhi said, "be the change you wish to see in the world." Or as I always say "Set the example by being it."
Great question, thank you for asking it.
Peace be with you.

if u were to ask a scientist they can only say to use logic. there would no such creature. the human race has a need to believe in some thing in which to explain or blame for its own stupidity. these 3letters have caused more death& destruction than any of mans[as a race] other traits. i preffer to call them defects.by use-ing this scale of thinking or observational abilities it is so easy to see just how far the race is going down hill real fast to its own self destructive suicide.what is a real shame is that a few will destroy the all. & the all will let them. what a disgrace it is to watch.

When you said people hate Muslims and are on different views about Muslims, what did you mean?
People have been killing each other from centuries on the name of God. But the truth is that it is their own hatred that made them kill and not God. Since you don't believe in God you won't believe in Satan either but the truth is that it is Satan who invokes man, whispers in his ear and makes him do bad things from lying, cheating to killing.
As Muslims, our fight is not with people but with Satan and his whispers. All humans are distracted by Satan. How? He whispers in your ear - can you imagine what this person said about your religion, forget about praying and go and hit him. Kill him and punish him for what he said. So, who is the real enemy then? Satan.
In your case you don't believe that there is a God. The question is what makes you believe that there is no God? If someone was to make you believe of a creature (for eg.) that you cannot see, definitely you wont believe it's existence. But what if you can sense the existence? Such a creature is Jinn that all Muslims believe in. Man cannot see them but they exist. Similarly, you can sense God. If you see everything in this world has a purpose. The plants, the clouds, the sun, the soil, the animals, etc. So, what purpose is man existing for? To enjoy himself? There has to be a purpose. Man is not meant to just survive or we could be a single cell organism and have survived. Man was created to worship God. Now with that if you put God into the picture, everything in life makes sense and easier to understand.
If you want to discuss this some more you can contact me and I hope it made some sense to you.
Just wanted to add the following to help you understand:
There was a young man who went overseas to study for quite a long time. When he returned, he asked his parents to find him a religious scholar or any expert who could answer his 3 questions. Finally, his parents were able to find a Muslim scholar.
Young man: Who are you? Can you answer my questions?
Scholar: I am one of Allah (SubHana Wa Ta`ala )'s slaves and insha-Allah (God willing), I will be able to answer your questions.
Young man: Are you sure? A lot of Professors and experts were not able to answer my questions.
Scholar: I will try my best, with the help of Allah(SubHana Wa Ta`ala ).
Young Man: I have 3 questions:
1. Does God exist? If so, show me His shape.
2. What is taqdir (fate)?
3. If shaitan (Satan) was created from the fire, why at the end (i.e.after judgement day) will he be thrown into hell that was also created from fire. It certainly will not hurt him at all, since Shaitan (Satan) and the hell were created from fire. Did God not think of it this far?
Suddenly, the Scholar slapped the young man's face hard.
Young Man [feeling pain]: Why do you get angry at me?
Scholar: I am not angry. The slap is my answer to your three questions.
Young Man: I really don't understand.
Scholar: How do you feel after I slapped you?
Young Man: Of course, I felt the pain.
Scholar: So do you believe that pain exists?
Young Man: Yes.
Scholar: Show me the shape of the pain!
Young Man: I cannot.
Scholar: That is my first answer. All of us feel God's existence without being able to see His shape.
Scholar: Last night, did you dream that you will be slapped by me?
Young Man: No.
Scholar: Did you ever think that you will get a slap from me, today?
Young Man: No.
Scholar: That is takdir (fate). My hand that I used to slap you, what is it created from?
Young Man: It is created from skin.
Scholar: How about your face, what is it created from?
Young Man: Skin.
Scholar:How do you feel after I slapped you?
Young Man: In pain.
Scholar: Even though Shaitan (Satan) and also the hell w ere created from the fire, if
Allah wants, insha-Allah (God willing), the hell will become a very painful place for Shaitan (Devil).

Perhaps you should think about that question and who is patronising whom.
Yes, The Jews wiped out whole nations in the name of God. Yes, Hilter tried to wipe out the Jews probably in the name of his god. Yes, sects of the Muslim faith are trying to wipe out others in the name of God but...
Each one of these peoples is delusional in what their holy book says if they think that God would want them to kill in HIs name.
After all God created each and everyone of us and therefore we are all Jew, Muslim, Christian, Agnostic and Atheist brothers and sisters.

its not the mistake of god...... its the mistake of human for they are killing each other. they are killing each other in the name of country, race, religion..... day by day its increasing ........ so god has also started killing from his own side like he wants to show that he is more stronger than humans in the case of destruction. so he creates tsunamis, catrinas, glendas, and all....... !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
