It all began with the "Great Herring War". Half of the fisherman wanted to eat the herrings and half of them wanted to train the herrings and use them in herring circuses for profit. Some herrings were taught to juggle tiny knives but wound up filleting themselves. Others were shot out of tiny canons into a tree. But after that no other herring would do it. It was really a mess. Finally came the "Great Herring Civil War". The herrings finally rebelled and refused to be caught for anything. They would form great schools near very dangerous rocks and jetty's and dangerous waters, lure the fisherman there and the fisherman's boats would be sunk or severely damaged and many lives were lost. . In the "Great Freedom Act For All Herrings" the herrings were finally given their freedom to once again live in peace in the sea. The sardines, however, were not very happy about any of this.
