Hello this is possible but the potential employer needs to fill in the forms for you. After that the process is quite simple because you are in Belgium, so they don't need to proove to state that there is nobody in EU that can do the job. But it is quite difficult to find the employer who will go throught the process. Try contacting ORBEM (www.orbem.be) if you are in Brussels.

You may have to check at the Palais d'Justice on that one. I'm an American and I was staying in Bruxelles on a spouse visa and started playing piano for tips in a bar on the Chaussee de Vlerurgatt and got busted... had to report to the police station and got a very stern lecture about working illegally in Belgium.

If you're from the european union you dont even need a spouse visa to work in Belgium.
If you're from another then you more than probably need other papers, go to the local administration and hope the queue wont be too long :p

You can apply for a job, but in order to hire you, your employer has to support your application for the change of status.
Since you're talking about visa, I assume you're not EU citizen
