Service is included in all restaurants of Paris. You can leave a tip, but it's absolutely not obligatory. Nobody will look at you viciously if you don't.

Service is normally included (it will say Service Compris on the bill, or Service Non Compris if it isn't included).

If you think the service is good it is customary to leave a small tip (eg 1 or 2 euros), but this is optional and they will generally not make a fuss if you don't.

it says at the bottom of the menu whether the service is included or not. ("service inlus" i think). Most places include the service, but if the service was really good then you could leave a small tip as well. It's a personal thing

It is the 'done' thing to leave a tip if the service has been what you wanted. Many continental waiters/waitresses do not earn very much at all and make up their wage with tips so its important
