I agree with you 100%. I see some of the questions kids are asking and I ask myself, why are they not asking their parents? There are so many parents out there clueless as to what is going on with their kids, then when the kids get into trouble, they wonder why. I don't get it. I know that parents are a lot busier these days with work and all, but you can never be too busy for your kids. I work and go to school and always find time to find out what' s going on with my kids. I sit down and talk to them, and I think because I make the time for them and am not shouting all the time, they are more comfortable with telling me what's really on their minds. Parents need to take more responsiblity for the kids they brought into this world. That is the problem with children who get into trouble, their parents either don't care or don't have the time of day for them.

Now days parants dont have time for there children, sure they say they want to have children, but they forget that children are not pets, or things to be dressed up and strutted out when they feel the urge to look like a family. Children are pretty much so left to themselves, or a grandparant, or a sitter. WE need more stay at home moms in the world.

No. Children do not talk to their parents anymore. The media told the parents to distrust their children, so they act very crazy...and the children can't say anything to their parents anymore, because the crazy, crazy parents will do something crazy. Maybe send them to boot camp. At the very least, to a therapist.
My parents were fairly mild, as far as the "craziness" goes...but I still could not ever talk to them about anything important. We weren't a talking / hugging / loving family.
I know very few people who are close to their parents...and I've always been jealous of them. I know that if I ever have children, though, I will use these mothers as my role models...they did something right.

not only children, but adults not able to talk to their spouses, etc. in society today, there are many single parents and they work so much that the kids have to find out about the real world the hard way.

These days it seems like Parents are not being parents and are just having kids for the fun of pregnancy, but still there are some loving wonderful parents and guardians out there!

Ive thought the same thing several times and it just makes me that much more aware that when the time comes to talk to my kids, I will be the one doing it. They wont be coming to a place like this for their information.

i think that some parents are just unavailable to their children or they don't feel comfortable talking to their kids. i try to be as open as possible with my children. sometimes i am a little too blunt, but atleast we are communicating.

they do get information from home still. you have to consider all the parents are not same.
some may not have good communication with parents
some may feel introvert to ask those questions to them
but definitely its best if parents always guide their kids.teens
