so as far as i can understand, ure body needs time to get used to not needing caffiene any more so it can create spinal fluid on its own. so, after 3 days of roughing it out, i should be completly free of any symptoms? is this the same way other addictions work like niccotine and other harder drugs?

I would not suggest going cold turkey.
Caffeine produces spinal fluid. After a while your body gets accustomed to having an outside source and naturally lowers its own ability to produce it. When you quit caffeine it is making less spinal fluid which suspends the brain thus the headache.

Gradually decrease your daily intake of caffeine to allow your body to adjust and regulate its own spinal fluid production.

Well, having done this already a few times in my life, you have one of two choices typically.

The first is to just go cold turkey and allow yourself to accept the incoming headache. Once it goes away, your free and clear.

The second option is easier on your head but takes a little longer. Slowly cut down your consumption. Drink other things like water and then have your caffeine in half doses or the like and then half that and so on until your down to nothing or close to nothing.

This will take a little time, but it works well.

Hope that this helps,

take some ibuprofen each day about an hour before the time you usually get the headaches. after about 4 days stop taking the ibuprofen.

take vitamins to help you with mental alertness

to help keep off drinks with caffiene, find replacements and keep a stock of them at home.

"put the coffee down" No seriously, caffeine is quite addicting! You must do it slowly....decrease your intake a bit at a time. You will still have some withdrawal symptoms but nothing like when you go cold turkey....Slowly decrease your intake and gl to you!
