Whether it be Folgers Coffee, Redbull, Starbucks Mocha with 2 shots, etc, etc. What type of drink do you prefer when you are in need of a kick?

I prefer Diet Rockstar when I am in a hurry and when I have time I stop to get an Iced Mocha with two shots of caffeine.

I remember going to some coffee place in Berkeley on NYE (might have been Starbucks, dunno). In any case, I was looking for some energy enhancement & the coffee barista asked me if I wanted espresso. "One shot will keep ya up 'til midnight; two shots will keep ya up 'til dawn!"

That's when I knew what coffee shops are really legal dope (speed) dealers ;)

The best energy drink?

Water.

I've done several stretches without sleep or with really really reduced sleep for extended periods (think better-part-of-a-week), and the one drink that's kept me going is H2O.

I've used some caffeinated drinks too, and I've always found the dropoff of the caffeine/sugar surges to put me at a lower place than before I started.

If I really need an extra kick, I also drink Gatorade and Powerade, and pop extra multivitamins. Works pretty well.

I don't drink energy drinks...ever, pretty much, but I did try Mountain Dew Amp once and I thought it was good. I also kind of like Starbucks caramel macchiato and a lot of different drinks from Moxie Java. And tea! Tea counts right? It has caffeine. Anyway, I usually stick with water, diet drinks and tea. And powerade after playing tennis!

LAMe as hell, but here is the truth yha guys.

Diet and exercise 30 min 3x a week, plus 10 cups a water a day, 30 min of sunshine, 2 multivitamins a day (1 is to be the bare minimun), 8 fish oil caplets a day, enough sleep to be rested the next day, a mid-day nap, eliminating sugar and cutting back on breadlike products ,and a happy life, and exciting things to look forward to when you are done working should give you enough energy. Sounds outrageous, but it works.

But when I need to 'cram' I drink as much green and black tea as I need until I get my desired enrgy. Usually 2 blacks a day and 4 greens.

Yeah, but who's gonna follow the above advice?

coffee- but not the crappy coffee that you get in in a tin at walmart. I find Starbucks too rancid, even with all the sugar and stuff they put in it. Tim Horton's is much better
real Italian espresso rocks (and drains your wallet but oh well)
When in a hurry, double shot of any espresso does the trick, even if it's crappy
Red Bull gives you wings and the runs

I prefer Red Bull as it is the original make of energy drinks and has more caffeine. Diet Rockstar is second best.

Consumption
The San Pedro cactus is used as an entheogen in shamanic cultures of the Andes and more recently in the western world. The most common form of preparation is to cut the cactus into slices, boil it for over 7 hours and juice it into a green liquid preparation that is then drunk during the ceremony which usually happens at night. Another common form is to dry the skin of the cactus and then eat it.

[edit]
Legality
In most countries it is legal to cultivate San Pedro, but in countries where possession of mescaline and related compounds is illegal, cultivation for the purposes of consumption may be illegal. This is the case in the USA, Australia, Canada, and the UK, where it is currently legal to cultivate San Pedro unless it is for the purposes of consumption. It is unclear exactly how intent to consume could be proved. Possession of books, literature, and internet histories as well as large amounts of cactus (growing or not) may be enough evidence. The possession of material such as dried cactus flesh would probably be illegal in most countries where mescaline is scheduled, however fresh cactus material could be used (and often is) in normal cultivation activities, and so may not be proof of intent to consume.
