Pizza is not good for him, because it can cause pancreatic disease..Some people food is fine for dogs, but no fatty food (pizza) or spicy food(pizza) or tomato (pizza)..no onions (pizza) However low fat cheese, or one piece of bread, peanut butter in small amount, are OK..no grapes or raisins, no chocolate anything..no candy.

It died? damm. Lets hope your girlfriend loves you alot.lol.My mom got a dog a year before i was born.Everyone always fed it some of what they were eating. The dog was heathy as hell. It really depends on the dog. To be frank some food can get to them.Animals know what to eat and what to not eat by nature. But of course human food is not nessesarily nature food.He will be fine. Just don't feed him an exagerrated amount of human food. A little bit of pizza won't hurt him.Just feed him the regular dog food. feeding him once in a while some of what your eating won't hurt him. Just don't give him milk, chocolate, soda,(i don't think he will like it)you can give him a sip, they make a funny face.Well hope this helps you.

some of human foods are bad for dogs. anything that's sweet, and any that has caffeine and that is spicy can be dangerous to the pet.
although pple generally believe that feeding dog food is the best for the dog's digestive system, i recently found out the low down on how companies make dog food and i was shocked.
u would only feed ur dog with human food once u realize what's in the dog food -- regardless of the fact that it is a top of the line that has no by-product meat,

Actually pizza is bad, it has a yeast dough and it can expand inside their stomach, it also has to many herbs that is too bad for them, although tomatoes are not bad for them unless given straight off the vine, most dogs will not eat tomatoes unless starving. But as far as people food ie.. hamburger, as long as you cook it well done, bones are almost a no-no as long as its a pork or beef big bone NO CHICKEN BONES WHAT SO EVER they break and can get lodged inside their throat, sorry take the time and pull the meat off the bones and toss the bones where they cannot get them out of the trash behind you!!! Everyone has an opinion as far as people food compared to dog food, read and take to heart some of the earlier responses as they tell you what they CANNOT eat ie... chocolate, onions, and some things that are BAD but as far as food goes read some of the ingediants on dog food cans and bags! You wanna eat that UH !!!

It can be bad after a long period of time. If you continue to do it often eventually they will not want to eat dog food. This could lead to problems, cause as they get older and less active people food can make them very obese. They also need the nutrients from the dog food and most people food is not going to give them the source of it they need. I suggest staying away from it if possible.

My vet always said to just use dog food. People food can upset their stomach plus once they start getting it they may not want the dog food. I know dogs love pizza but the sauce and 'stuff' isn't really good for them. Chocolate and onions are VERY BAD for them. I think you should stick with the dog food.

It is generally bad, if it becomes a habit. My mom spoils our dogs, and now they NEVER eat dog food. This is bad because now they just sit there looking at me while I'M trying to eat, and that gets on MY nerves because I know that all they want is some of what I've got. That good enough? I'm going for a best answer here, lol!

People food isn't good for dogs. Heck, a lot of people food isn't even good for people... Dogs' digestive systems can't handle a lot of the things we eat. Dogs will of course happily eat anything they can get, as they are omniovores. A dog that isn't used to people food might get a bit sick---the tomato sauce or the cheese on the pizza you gave him might upset his tummy. A dog that eats people food on a regular basis might be able to 'handle' it better, but it has been shown to decrease their lifespan.

Some food is bad for them, but if you have never had a dog, I guess you shouldn't be house-sitting for your girlfriend. I really feel sad for that puppy, call your friend and tell her that one of her puppies died.

Better not because some of our human foods are highly toxic and fatal to our pets. i.e. Mushrooms, Onions, Grapes/Raisins, Coffee and Cocoa products. If you can't handle those sad puppy eyes, carrot sticks and apple slices are good treats.
