A minor must be accompanied by an adult and if that adult is not a parent or legal guardian, the adult must have written, notorized consent from the parent or guardian stating that the individual may take the minor to that specific facility to visit a specific person and (usually) a copy of the minors birth certificate.

Call the jail to see if there is a age restriction and if you r going w/ an adult then don't worry about it. Why would you have to tell anyone anything? What is a prison operater?Do you mean a CO, or a DO.

You need to check with the jail itself. They may have restrictions placed on underage visitors that are not family members. It's best to call and ask instead of geting there and finding out you aren't allowed in.

They will ask for ID and you will also have to have been placed on his visitors list and approved by the jail for the visit.

best thing to do is call the jail and ask them. most only let family or approved people on a list w/ positive id. i am unsure about the age limits. most don't allow under 18 w/out a parent present.
