Every once in a while I'll sleep on my couch instead of in my room-and my mom will be up at some ungodly hour of the night getting ready for work.

She says that when she's sitting up getting ready for work: I make groaning/moaning/whimper noises in my sleep. I never wake myself up with it, and it's repetative.
It doesn't disrupt my sleeping at all- I never know that I'm doing it, and I'm either REALLY deeply in sleep or having a dream.

According to her claim: They sounds like sex noises, which she's just full of it...
Now she goes into my room before she leaves to see if it happens. And of course, she wakes me up when it happens- and about 70% of the time I'm having a dream.

It's never a sexual dream...it's sometimes scary or just odd...just normal dreams, but I make the noises every other night, dreams or not.

But now I'm just getting worried.
Any previous experiences with this or what this could be a symptom of?

Serious answers appreciated.

This has been happening for about 6 months- so I hear...

I'm not stressed out about anything really.

I pretty much have all of my emotions under control.

Possible mental disorder OR ...like maybe an anurism...

And for the love of god no one answer with: Maybe you're part dog...

That gets old.

More details:

Yes my mom does need to piss off but I'm kinda glad that she told me about it...

And I've had my tonsils and adnoids out for quite a long time so it's not a breathing problem.

The noises aren't loud, they're just like...it sounds like I'm crying in my sleep- that's the best damn way to put it.

Maybe it has to do with your breathing. Like thick breathing or somethinmg like that making the noises. Or you could be having dreams and not know it at all.

Whimpering In Sleep

Sounds normal. How else can you exrpess yourself ion a dream state without whimpering, etc.? You're not going to have a full on conversation with whoever you're dreaming about in your sleep... I think you're fine, and your mom needs to let you sleep through it. Kind of like dogs, I know you said not to bring it up, but they move their legs and whimper and humans are the same. We just don't seem to notice it as often since we sleep at the same time as others in the family.

Well your mom will end up giving you a complex and disrupt your sleep. I would ask her to stop waking you up and just don't worry about it until you're married and your husband complains. Everyone talks or makes noises. That's just the way it is. If it bothers you talk to your primary doctor and maybe you can go get a sleep study and check for "Sleep Apnea." You may hold your breath alot too which causes uneasy sleeping. Good luck and god bless.

Have you been losing sleep lately? Maybe you're not getting a very deep sleep.

I have a similar problem, i talk in my sleep and this usually happens when i'm extremely tired or haven't been getting enough sleep.

It's probably nothing to worry about. Alot of people do weird things in their sleep. One of my friends talks in her sleep, my brother makes weird noises at night, and I've been told I flail and kick in my sleep. As long as it doesn't disrupt your sleeping, it's nothing to get too worked up over. Don't worry about it. But if you are concerned, maybe check with your doctor.

Hunnie.. "Maybe you're part dog..." LoL. Just joking.

Honestly? I don't think there's anything strange about it. Seems like you already did your research on google but you can always call up a doctor and ask. If he/she doesn't know the answer, ask him/her who would be able to address your concern.

Meanwhiles, I hope you have happy dreams.
