Winning doesn't matter as long as everybody tries hard and has fun.

Robinson is too big and too fast for Chavez. This is a mismatch and in modern day it would be very unlikely however the show must go on.

Chavez - W 108 ((KO's 86) TF 116 - W pct 97% - KO pct 74% - wins over M. Taylor[2], Rosario, R. Maywether and Camacho - KO'ed by Tszyu and Del LaHoya{2} - #50 ranked puncher (too low) - #18 ranked fighter - titles at 130, 135 and 140

Robinson - W 173 (KO's 108) TF - W pct 87% - KO pct 54% - wins over LaMotta{4}, Gavalin and R. Turpin - KO'ed by Maxim (heat exhaustion) - #11 ranked puncher - #1 ranked fighter
See this month the Ray Robinson Story on HBO this month

This fight starts off as exhibition just like Stanley Ketchel and Jack Johnson but just like Ketchel, Chavez gets carried away and slugs Sugar and he then knocks Chavez into next week (which means getting KO'ed on Sunday and not waking up until Monday).

Julio Cesar Chavez couldn't contend with Oscar Dela Hoya. Sugar Ray Robinson would be an even bigger obstacle to contend with. Sugar Ray easy.

I assume you are talking about a welterweight match as Chavez is a smaller fighter than Robinson. Sugar Ray Robinson was an artist in the ring with dazzling footwork and superior boxing skills. Robinson would overwhelm Chavez who is a very brave fighter and knock him out in 5 rounds! In a middleweight fight it would end in 3 rounds!

Ray Robinson was the greatest fighter of all time. Chavez would be no match for Ray. Robinson by TKO in round 6.

I love the question, but why did you have to make me tell the truth, I have always dug Chavez, but Sugar Ray was a one in a million fighter, Robinson by 2nd rd K.O.

Julio wasn't a middleweight the heaviest he ever was for a fight was 147 and he looked awful. Ray was at is best and won the Championship at Middleweight 165. You're comparing apples to oranges.
