There's a show on Food Network called "How to Boil Water" which is designed to teach the very basics of cooking. You can find out more at http://www.foodnetwork.com/food/show_bw
You can also get some kid's cookbooks at the library. Don't laugh - the kid's cookbooks assume that you know nothing about cooking, so they explain things in simple terms with plenty of illustrations, and they give very basic but tasty recipes. They also give you explanations of common cooking terms which will help you move on to the adult cookbooks when you have mastered the basics.
If you know someone who's a good cook, you could also try just asking them for lessons.
Cooking is a basic life skill. Don't learn because it'll help you get guys, do it because you deserve to eat good, healthy food without paying an arm and a leg to do it.

AllRecipes.com. If you wanna learn how to cook, there are thousands of really great recipes here. Don't go for too extravagant recipes at first, just do basic meat and potatoes. Pasta dishes are usually the easiest for newbies. But stay away from lasagna and stuffed manicotti or stuffed shells, because those are a little tricky to prepare, even for the moderately skilled. If you want, email me directly for a great marinated london broil recipe or for the best fettucini alfredo (better than Alfredo's in NYC) recipe. Both are really easy to prepare and absolutely delicious.

Learn how to cook. It's not that hard. Try using some cook books. Get some tips from your family or friends. It just takes practice and experimenting with different methods. Be patient with yourself. You BF needs to be patient too. Otherwise tell him to cook for himself and you too. A lot of guys today can cook.

Cooking can be simple, people just don't take the time and patience to do it.
Get a cookbook or ask your mother or someone you know who can get down in the kitchen for pointers.
The more you do it, the better you'll get and you will end up creating your own tricks of the trade.

I can't cook all that much either. But my mom has showed me some simple things I can whip up on my own. Like potato salad and stuff like that. But I say if you can read you can follow a reciepe. Thats what I do a lot of the time.
