Cutting off split ends does make your hair healthier. You need to find your stress and try and calm that down. There are shampoos that can help as well. And until your hair gets longer you could try extensions they are great and come in real hair that can be matched to your own.

The whole trimming your hair ends so your hair will grow faster is an old MYTH. What you do to the bottom of your hair does not affect your hair around your scalp. Hair is already dead cells. Doctors are slowly beginning to figure this out.
All cutting your hair does is keep your hair healthy by getting rid of split ends.
In order for your hair to grow faster, get lots of Vitamin A, C, and protein!
And don't cut it.. unless you have split ends!
Hope that helped!

Hi. I know how you feel. When I gave birth to my daughter last Summer, my hair broke off and fell out. It was dry and looked horrible. I always thought that being pregnant would give a mom to be lustrous hair. Well, not me! After she was born, I started taking Hair Formula 37, and well my hair grew like a ragweed. I couldn't believe how quickly it grew. I still take the vitamins. My hair is very thick now. I don't want to sound like an infomercial, but HF 37 did work for me. I buy their stage 1 and 2 vitamins, but not their shampoo. For shampoo, conditioner and hairdress, I use "Ojon." Ojon is a palm tree that grows in Central America, and the natives, extract an oil, from the nuts that grow on the tree. It has done wonders for my hair. So lustruous. You can purchase it at most upscale salons, but it is costly ($60). But, it has to be the best oil on the market for black hair. My neice's hair broke off just like yours and Ojon has really helped her hair. Also too, because most of us are so busy in these hard days and times, we forget to eat healtfully. You may want to examine your diet and look for ways to improve it, by adding more vegetables, fruits, lean cuts of meat, and drink lots of water! Try to cut out sodas, and other sugary drinks. I hope this helps. Other than the hair, it sounds like you may have some other issues going on in your life to make you unhappy. You are certainly not your hair (if you catch my drift), and there is something else makign you unhappy. I hope you speak to your mother, or someone close to you and express your feelings, and get the help and guidance you need to smile again.

I'm really sorry about your hair :( I had a friend who was really upset when her hair was chopped off too, but she grew to like her short doo. Don't let your hair ruin your life though. Remember, it is just hair, and I'm sure you still look pretty with short hair. It has been said that if you cut the ends of your hair it will grow faster, it not significantly faster. If you're really upset about your short hair, maybe you can persuade your mom to let you get hair extensions. They are rather pricey, but if you get the right kinds it will look natural. Good luck to you, and remember, your hair will come back. By the way, reduce your stress by exercising and breathing techniques - it really works. :D

Maybe you could purchase a wig or a really cute hat until your hair is a length that you will feel better about.
I am sorry that you are stressed and hate your life, but if you happen to be a teenager, you have a lot of company. It is a time in life where all the focus is on looks and clothes, which is sad, because that isn't even important. As you get older, it will be much much better. (from my own experience)

I am so sorry you are feeling this way!!! I am caucassion and have had to deal with the same issue many times.......
It will grow back, but in the meantime emphasize your facial features with your makeup....let the beauty of your face be your highlight. Also, wear earrings. This can actually be a time to go for that most fashionable look. In a couple of weeks you should start seeing an improvement with your hair growth.
SMILE!!

Take this hug and stop crying. Try doing something relaxing like listening to music or reading. If your hair was damaged cutting the ends makes it healthier. There is a product I love it is called long and strong it is a leave in conditioner by Garnier (I think) it is in a green bottle and sells for around $4.00 and rite-aid or the grocery stores. Good luck and God bless you.

Well, I'm not an expert at hair-growth, but I know that if you take prenatal vitamans (even if you aren't pregnant), it will make your hair and nails grow. As for the dead ends, yes, it is true that if you cut them, your hair will grow faster. I hope this was somewhat helpful for you, and I certainly hope that you get feeling better soon :)
