I am an extremely ticklish person to the point where it actually hurts. I try to keep my ticklishness a secret because I am afraid it would be used against me if anyone found out. I've actually had nightmares about being tied up and tickled against my will.

A key to overcoming a phobia is to understand where that fear comes from. Often it's related to a childhood experience. Once you understand where the phobia comes from you can then face it head on and overcome it.

That may sound over simplistic but it's a pace to start. I might add that seeking out others who have the same phobia and exchanging thoughts with them can also be therapeutic.

Me? I am ticklish but often only to those whom I'm somehow attracted to or those whom had tickled me when I was young. I wouldn't say that I have a tickling phobia but I tend to shy away from a lot of contact (touching, etc) from people I don't know very well. It bugs me when others touch me in a line or crowded room.

For me if I'm ticked by someone I like I can deal with it because I'm very relaxed around that person.

I am just the opposite. I am a very ticklish person and I LOVe to be tickled in playful tickling encounters.

As long as I know the person and we have a basis of trust and respect - it is a lot of fun for me.

You should tell your friend to tie you up and tickle you until you faint. It solves the phobia.

I hate being tickled. It makes me hyperventilate. I get pissed off. I carry a hammer around to pound anyone who dares to tickle me ;)

Not exactly a phobia...it gives me a feeling almost like being suffocated...I hate it!! Anyone who knows me wouldn't tickle me...they know I don't care if they get hurt when doing it, so they don't. :)
