This question is for anyone who considers themself "born again" in the christian concept(of course others can comment too). I have always heard that it isn't possible to become "unborn" once you have been born again.
However, biblical scholar Bart D. Ehrman tells in the intro to his book Misquoting Jesus of his born again experience and his extremely conservative and devoted godly life, but then after attending one of the most conservative christian colleges in the world, he begins delving deep into the bible and it's history and, long story short, eventually rejects it as the perfect divine word of god and now is an agnostic.

I was born again. I am now atheist. For me also it was delving into the bible and its history that helped me finally give it up. it was alot of struggle, and prayer. But now I know, I never did know.

I appreciate what Mr. Ehrman has to say. However, as in all differences between what a person may say and what the word of God says, I will always believe the word of God over what a person says. Therefore, the bible quotes this: "if they say they were one of us, but go out from amongst us...they were never one of us". Impossible to be "un-born again".

I was born again, I converted to Islam when I decided that it was the only way to remain faithful to the Biblical god (through affirmation of an absolute monotheism), and then ultimately saw the sickness of all things Yahweh. I spent a number of years without religion and have only recently adopted a form of paganism as my spiritual path.
It happens.

O, YOU ARE NOT STILL SAVED
IF YOU ARE ENVOLVED WITH THE WORLDS PLEASURES AND SINS
âªI SURRENDER ALL
if you are in adultery, if you have unforgiveness in your heart the list goes on. (alcoholic, homosexual, liar, unthankful, unbelieving, etc...)
How do I know? THE HOLY BIBLE speaks very clearly on this subject.
"If we deliberately keep on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sins is left, but only a fearful expectation of judgment and of raging fire that will consume the enemies of God. Anyone who rejected the law of Moses died without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses. How much more severely do you think a man deserves to be punished who has trampled the Son of God under foot, who has treated as an unholy thing the blood of the covenant that sanctified him, and who has insulted the Spirit of grace? For we know him who said, "It is mine to avenge; I will repay," and again, "The Lord will judge his people." It is a dreadful thing to fall into the hands of the living God." (Hebrews 10:26-31)
AND GOD is sending many, many witnesses of this very truth.
You are in Great DANGER! They warn you to repent before it is too late! Dare you call brothers and sisters in CHRIST liars? When all they wish to do is warn you of empending horrors to come? To give you the message that GOD HIMSELF commands them to share?
There are many CHRISTIANS who have had near death EVEN death experiences. Oh that GOD would give you ears to hear!

One chooses to love God or not! If any Christian decides not to live for Christ or take a stand for Him any more they can make a choice to walk away from Christianity and live there former life it is a decision made by that individual! But as for me and my Family we will serve the Lord Jesus Christ!

Thank you for sharing this information.
I used to be an atheist. Over a period of time however, I grew convinced of the existence of the Christian God, and ultimately committed my life to Christ (e.g., see http://www.godsci.org/gs/chri/testimony/seek.html ).
Cordially,
John

I seem to recall something about being better off not to have known God than to have known Him and then rejected Him.
