My Docter says to take Nonprescription drugs like tylenol. But sometimes they don't work. What are some other ways to treat them?

I use Tylenol and that usually works.

But, try a neck massage.

Headaches happen for different reasons - could be stress, certain smells, eye strain, tention in your body, etc.

You might consider seeing a specialist if your headaches continue. It could be that they might find something that IS causing YOUR headaches!

If that be the case, then you'lll be on your way to a recovery, so to speak b/c you can do (or not do) what's causing them!

I'm a migraine sufferer - I went to a specialist and found out what was casing mine. It's the best move I ever made. I still get them on occasion, but not like I was!

Good luck!

Believe it or not, tension headaches are caused by you making faces, like the ones you make when your stressed. I only had them for a month after 911 and the doctor prescribed valuim. I had a tolerance to them after two months and it scared me so I stoped. Best thing is to be aware of what causes them. That your forhead is actually tensing up due to thoughts. Exercise can help because it relaxes the muscles. Swimming is good also in this hot whether. Hot towel to the forhead can work if you put lavendar oil ) -not scented, must be actual oil which has the healing properties-. Mr. Unkers spray is absolutely amazing. In my area, you can only get it in poor black neighborhood gas stations but they might have it in your area. Its kinda like ice-hot but fixes absolutely everything. Its about 5-15 a bottle depending on the size/

Taking Extra Strength Tylenol or Ibuprofen and getting a really good massage. If that does not work, maybe you need some rest, take a nap.

Try this....
Put your right hand on your head so that your finger touches the tip of your left ear.
Now put your left hand and cup your chin.
With your right hand gently pull to the right (you have 2 main joints in your neck, 1 at the base of the head and 1 at your shoulders, only move the joint at the base of the skull.
With your other hand gently push to the left, again only to pivot the skull, hold this for 10 seconds then again for 10 seconds and then do the opposite for the other side.

Just trying to help'

I take ibuprofen and then a hot shower. Then I lie down and try to sleep for a couple hours. Usually, when I get headaches, I am sleep-deprived and my muscles are really tense.

I always tell my husband to GO AWAY!!! lol. Seriously, I often listen to relaxing music or put earplugs in my ears and just chill out for a few minutes.
