My ex-boyfriend told me I was too "fat" for heaven... and that God doesn't love "fat" people. Not sure if it's true but how do I get a ticket to heaven?

Good thing he's your ex because he doesn't deserve you. Follow the teaching of Jesus and you'll be fine.

Becoming a Christian is the most incredible event that will ever take place in your life. You have found peace with your Creator. You have found everlasting life! Be assured--God will never leave you nor forsake you. He has brought you this far and He will complete the wonderful work He has begun in you. God knows your every thought, your every care and your deepest concerns.

Let's now look at some of those possible concerns. First, and of primary concern -- do you have "assurance" of your salvation? The Bible says to "make your calling and election sure" (2 Peter 1:10, italics added), so, let's go through a short "checklist" to make sure that you are truly saved:

1. Are you aware that God became flesh in the person of Jesus Christ (John 1:14, KJV), and that he died for the sins of the world?
2. Did you come to the Savior because you had sinned?
3. Did you "repent" and put your faith in Jesus?
4. Are you convinced that He suffered and died on the Cross and that He rose again on the third day?

God acquits us from the Courtroom of Eternal Justice on the grounds that Jesus Christ paid our fine. We are "justified" (made right with God) by His suffering death. The resurrection of Jesus Christ was God's seal of approval of the fact that His precious blood was sufficient to pay the fine.

Think of it this way... You have violated the law and face a $50,000 fine. You tell the judge that you are truly sorry for your crime, but he answers, "So you should be -- you have broken the law! Now, can you pay this fine?" He can only acquit you if the fine is paid. If someone else pays your fine, then he can let you go, but he must have "grounds" on which to release you.

The reason we need a substitute (a savior) to pay our moral "fine," is because we have broken God's Law. To see how much we have transgressed this Law (the Ten Commandments), we will go through some of them -- Have you ever told a lie? Have you ever stolen something? Have you ever lusted after another person? If you answered "Yes" to these questions, you admit that you are a lying, thieving, adulterer at heart, and you have to face God on Judgment Day! If you have used His name in vain, then you are guilty of "blasphemy" -- you've substituted God's holy Name for a curse word. Perhaps you've hated someone, then the Bible says that you are a murderer. You have violated God's holy Law, and you're in BIG trouble. On Judgment Day, you will be found guilty and end up in Hell. That's why you need the Savior. Merely being sorry for your sins, or confessing them to God won't help you. You must turn from sin (repent), and your faith must be in Jesus Christ alone. He is the only "grounds" for God to grant mercy towards you. If you're not sure of your salvation, make Psalm 51 your own prayer.

That is so ridiculous. God only wants us to try to be thinner, so we'll be healthy and feel better. Only loving food more than what God wants is a sin. Also, look at the fact. God gives us perfect bodies eventually, so while there won't be any fat people in Heaven, there will be large people, so that's why no fat people are in Heaven. God fixes their problems. Don't worry. God loves everyone no matter what they look like.

It does not matter if you are overweight to get into heaven. The only way to get in is to confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, that He died on the cross for you and me,all peoples sins and God raised Him from the dead and believe it in your heart. That is what the bible says I just accepted Christ as my savior and now my life is going so much better. I no longer worry about things that used to really bother me. I have tried lots of other ways I was Catholic at one time and even tried buddusim and native american and this is the only way that works, The one true God. The Father The Son and the Holy Spirit. Just like me I am a brother, a son and a father. any questions consult your Bible!!!!

Dont know if this is a serious question or not, but I will answer anyways. Your ticket has already been paid for, you just have to ask for it. Trust that Jesus is the Son of God and that he died on the cross to save you from your sins, ask him into your heart to be your Lord and Savior and that is your "ticket" to Heaven.
Fat, skinny, Black, White, short, tall, ugly, beautiful: none of that matters. I do think that you should get involved in Church though, cause you are being infuenced by someone who is telling you untruths.

i was created to live here and enjoy what the earth produces, weren`t you? the bible says in psalms 37vs.9&11that the ones hoping in jehovah are the ones that will possess the earth. and that the meek( the teachable) will inherit the earth.matthew 5:5,Ecclesiastes1:4 says that the earth is standing to time indefinite. the truth is god does not lie. a few are chosen to go to heaven 144000, the rest are to live on this earth forever!the 144000 are to be kings and preists to rule with jesus for 1000 years(Rev. 14, &20:6 ) they have a purpose to be in heaven.they rule over us that are here on earth. does this make sense to you ? use common sense and see if things sound lodgical when you study or talk about god. god didnt confuse things man did.it is in front of us in black and white some things need to be researched further if you need it explained deeper, dig into the scriptures and pray for understanding. also sometimes we inherit the fat gene ask your doctor!love doesn`t see outward beauty because it fades with age!1st corinthians 13:4-8 !

You get a free trip to Heaven by getting saved by the Grace of God. You cannot buy your way there, neither will good works take you there. God must speak to your heart and convict you of your sins. You must believe that Jesus died for you, and was buried, and Rose again on the third day. You ask God to forgive you, and save you. By Faith you are saved. God loves everybody. No matter what you look like, or what color you are.

Sorry to tell you -your boyfriend does not know what he is talking about or he is just making fun at your expense.
Your sure 'ticket to heaven' is your belief in the Lord Jesus Christ. The 'manual' that you should consult to guide your journey is The Holy Bible. In John 3:16,it says "God so loves the world ,that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life".
That is God loves You so much that He sent Jesus to die in your place so that you can have that ticket to heaven,if you believe in Jesus and what He did for you.Jesus also tells us that He is preparing a place for each one of us who believes.I already have my ticket,Praise be to GOD!
I suggest you contact the TBN network for further guidance.

First of all in heaven we will not have these earthly bodies that we have now. We will just be our soles. So there is no "too fat to go to heaven". The one and only way to go to heaven is to repent and turn from your sins. Then you must accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior.

If this is a sincere question, God loves phat people. In John Chapter 3,verse16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

That includes you

It sounds like it's a very good thing that he's your "ex". He needs to stop being so critical of appearances.

The "ticket" you need is as simple as ABC. Accept that you have sinned (just as we all have), Believe that Jesus died to pay for you sins, and Confess that Jesus is your Lord and Saviour.

Then, not for the purpose of salvation, but for the purpose of growth, you need to find a good, Bible believing church and start attending on a regular basis.
