Hello!

I am researching Mormonism, and I have 6 questions....Looking for members of the LDS church.

It won't let me post all the questions with the references here(too long)...So I posted them online at www.allaboutjoshua.com or http://joshuafkon.googlepages.com/questions

Thank you very much for your help,

God bless,

Josh

question one, there havent been any changes made to it. only things added that God has given to the prophets of modern day to share with the ppl

two
the book was originally written at the same time as the events covered in the bible, put on plates of brass and gold, and hidden, then translated by moroni for joseph smith so he could share with the world

three.
how is there no archeaological evidence... and what are you refferring to anyways?

four.
im not seeing as where his prophecies have not come to pass..... maybe not been fulfilled yet, but none of his prophecies have failed to happen

five.
wherein do they contradict each other. your saying that your source is evidence... please inform us as to this "evidence" you have.

six.
again.... how does joseph smith say it is supposed to read, these questions are unanswerable because their is not enough information

Read "Under the Banner of Heaven: A Story of Violent Faith" by Jon Krakauer. He does an amazing job of describing Mormonism in it's more fanatical form(s), and it's history. It's unbiased either way. He describes one historically supported event (letters, journals, diaries from the time) in which Joseph Smith originally recruited believers by telling them they could all receive prophecies from God/Moroni/whomever. But when some of their prophecies then contradicted his own, he had another "prophecy" in which he was "told" that nobody else could have their own prophecies any more and that only his own counted, and that it was wrong for anybody but him to receive these prophecies from then on.

I think Mormonism is nuts, but then so is Christianity most of the time, and many other religions.
