I used to dye my hair with Kool-aid when I was a teenager. Open a packet and mix it in with your conditioner, and let it sit on your hair for a few minutes before rinsing. The color will stay until the next time you wash it.

Peroxide does bleach your hair, but the kind of peroxide that you buy over the counter is NOT the same peroxide that they use to bleach hair in salons. The kind of peroxide that you buy in the store would lighten your hair, but only with a lot of heat and a lot of damage.

Oh, and I saw the answer about the lemon juice--that does work. Just rinse it through your hair and go outside for a while or blow dry it. It'll take it a shade lighter or so. Keep doing it and it'll keep getting lighter.

Clairol makes a spray called Sun-In and there's another called A Touch of Sun. You just spray it all over your hair, comb through to even the spray out, then blow dray and the heat lightens your hair. My hair stylist says its not good for hair but I've been doing it for years on my hair (its very blonde when I use the spray) and my son uses it on his hair for a great looking reddish/blonde color instead of his dark brown/black color. I just use lots of conditioner to keep it from drying out.

I've heard Lemon Juice works too.

peroxide is a bleach - it will lighten hair color. Peroxide bleach is what they use in salons.

i have heard that if you put vinegar on your dark hair, and go out in the sun, it will get red highlights. I don't know if that would work.

Peroxide, like all other regular hair dying, is sooooo damaging. But Henna is a great alternative, it's a stain that's a little more expensive.
Good Luck

If you are looking for a natural way to change your hair color, broil onions peels and cinnamon peels and put on for a couple of days and find out the results.

it can burn your scalp too! if you want to lighten your hair stay in the sun more. I used to put lemon juice on my hair to give it super blonde highlites, 'course my hair was blonde already. I wouldn't recommend someone doing that with dark dark hair.
