Can you smoke in pubs, restaurants, the mall, the cinema, patios, hotels, casinos, bingo halls, etc.

Just want to get a comparison on the type of restrictions we have here compared with the restrictions in Britain.

Thank you for your time!

You can smoke in most pubs and some restaurants. Not on public transport/train and bus stations, nor in cinemas, libraries, theatres, or malls. Most hotels will give you a smoking room if you request it and you're usually OK on patios and outside seating generally. Never been to a casino or a bingo hall. Smoking is banned in all public places in Scotland.

In England and Wales smoking isn't banned. Most work places have a no smoking policy but this is not enforced by law.
In Scotland and (I think) Northern Ireland smoking is banned in ALL public, enclosed places. No exceptions.

You cannot smoke in any public areas in Scotland and Republic of Ireland. That takes into account all of the above. Although people still walk along the street smoking at their leisure. Not too sure how that works.
