There are many, many ongoing studies about aging. I suppose we may find an "aging" gene or mutant protein or cerebreal clock one day and learn how to control it - do you think that would make the world a better place? I read once that cancer cells were immortal - how ironic, an immortal cell that kills its host.

Yes, it can only be achieved through death however. When you die, donate your remains to a fertilizer company. You will then help plants grow. The plants are eaten by animals that then grow. The animals are then eaten by other people who will gain strength and health from the food. And the circle of life will be forever unbroken and you will have reached immortality.
