can you try and stop him? its kind of hard to tell you what to do because i dont know why he's leaving. tell him how you feel about it before he leaves maybe it will convince him to stay.

You didn't provide much details, so I don't know exactly how I can give you advice.
However, here's a vague idea of what you can do:
Evaluate your relationship. Think through all his qualities and his shortcomings, try to figure out whether you'd want to live with him for the rest of your life as you say. Think this through carefully. Marriage is a committment - you don't just get married for the heck of it.
Wait a few days to see whether he contacts you. If you've come to the decision that he IS the right one and he still doesn't call, go find him yourself. Try to work things out calmly. Don't call him, because a face-to-face talk would be much more effective. Trust me.
Work through this problem with him. If it still doesn't end up right, forget him and move on. He's not worth your time, because it looks as if he's got his mind set.

Honey, everyone wonders that. For years I walked around being overly "nice" to everyone because someone once told me I probably flipped off "the one" in traffic. What I've learned over time, is that, if he's the one, you wouldn't be asking....you'd already know and he wouldn't be walking out the door. It may be a love lost, but chalk it up as an experience. You're Mr. Right is still out there.

Walk out beside him. Does he feel the same way about you? Did you have a falling out?
