The problem is that every generation of christian for thousands of years have believed they were living in the "end times" but the end times never come. It's a beautiful self-perpetuating lie, it can never be wrong and people will probably continue to believe they are living in the second coming of Christ for another 1,00 years. Maybe someday they will give up and be like.... Okay I don't think he is coming!!!!

In my personal oppinion, i think that if we are around to see the second coming of Christ that we are not going to have time to think he is a madman... we gonna be more worried about saving our butts..

Consdering that Christianity's founder was dismissed as a madman and executed like a criminal the first time around--
Would it be any different today?

Christ said when he comes back everyone will know for sure it is him. his face will appear in the sky and be so big that it will take up the entire sky from the east to the west so there will be no dought that it is him. and everyone will weep because they didn't believe and it was true after all.

not neccesarily. remember david koresh? whole bunch of folks believed fervently. but he was small patatoes. but if the full meal deal pushed it, and with the right PR firm behind him, and the right connections... . yeah sure, people will believe anything. dismissed? with all these fanatics? you wouldn't dare.

probably. even if a christian saw him on the street, they'd probably call the police or something... we're just very paranoid and non-trusting nowadays. with good reason.

For those who believe, he will be recognizable. Those who don't believe will be decieved by the ultimate deciever.
