Once upon a time there was a man who didn't believe in God, Heaven or Hell and lived his life putting down and making fun of Christians. Even though many Christians tried to show him the path to Jesus, he refused to believe them. But one day he died. He then realized that he was in Hell. He felt his flesh burning and there were horrible demons all around him, and he was very scared. Above him he saw the face of God. The man said, "I'm sorry God that I didn't believe in you, I see now that you are real." He also could see in the distance a beautiful paradise. He said, "Please someone help me! I dont want to be here! God please save me!" But, it was too late. God said, "You rejected my son in life, now you will suffer here for eternity." THE END!!!
Why does it seem that there are so many athiests in the religion site? I think they are scared that just maybe us Christians are right. Too bad it will be too late for them when they finally discover that. Anyone want to comment to that?

Trust me. I could sit here all day backing my beliefs up. All I know is that I am doing what God commanded Christians to do and that is spread the word of salvation through Jesus and when I meet my Lord in Heaven one day, I won't have to say I was too embarrassed or scared to spread his word. Anyways, I'll wave to all you athiests and non-believers on my way to Heaven. I just hope you can see me through the flames!!!!

I must say, and yet extremely sad to say, that I was very athiestic in my younger years, and let me tell you my experience about them. They, as I was, are so egotistical that they feel dangerously threatened by the possibility that there really is a Being, much more powerful than they can even dream of, that they get antagonistic of Christians because we KNOW there is that Being, Jesus our Christ, who is so awesomely powerful in every way. When they mature, IF they mature, they'll catch on to the fact that the universe doesn't revolve around them, and that they can feel free in Jesus our Christ to love and be loved in ways they cannot even imagine. But, the secret here, I think, is that, their antagonism towards Christians is that, in a dark region of their souls, they KNOW that Jesus is our Christ, is God, and THE ONLY GOD, and they're just not quite willing to give up their assumed role as their own god. But, do I have news for them. If you're truly blessed, you'll get an incredible knock over the head, so to speak, from Jesus, trying to give you yet another chance to catch on to what's going on in life. And they might not like the knocking they're going to get, but after they get it and realize it for what it was, they'll be eternally greatful that Jesus did everything necessary to get them to catch on and believe in Him. God Bless you for asking your question and allowing me to say, yet again, how and what I believe, and become stronger in Jesus our Christ.

Man.... dont sound so concerned for the lost. I'm feelin' the love.

Christianity is not the only religion in the world. there are many many others. even within christianity there are many different types. Many religeous and atheist get along with each other quite well. Many christians even believe in evolution, abortion etc. We all live on the same planet. I dont see why atheist cant be here. You would think that christians would be delighted. Then you can engage them like this question you asked.
I use to be a christian (Not the type to like abortion nor believe in evolution thats for sure). Some forms of christianity seek to rule the country. I want christians to know that they are being misled. I have children, and I want them to have a safe future. I would like less christian power over the 'laws of the land'. I have to work from the bottom.

Your story sounds like a typical christian polemic that attempts to use scare tactics to get people to convert.
Ex-christian turned atheist (I know i know..... you may say I was never a christian in the first place, I use to say the same to others).
I hope you come out of christianity for your own good. Dont hate me too much.
peace

First of all if he dies and he is an Athiest then he wouldn't go to hell because he does not believe in it nor does he believe in God so how exactly do these visions come to him, your story is good but it doesn't make much sense from the Athiest point of view but I do get the lesson that you are trying to convey. It is not your place to judge people for their beliefs or lack of belief I believe that if a person lives a good life and does good deeds that God will not care if they believed in him or not, in your story your God is an unforgiving being and that in it self is a falacy, I study the beliefs of many religions and incorporate these into my life and my choices in my life. You are a very narrow minded person please for the sake of your own soul look beyond what you think is right and quit trying to make people see that that is the only way, heaven has many paths just like angels have many faces so don't be so quick to a conclusion before knowing that it might be God or an angel that you are speaking to.

Well, a) you're calling for athiests to read your stuff, and when your question is listed on the home page - it's not exactly trolling the religion forum.

b) if your God is so forgiving and loving, why would he turn his back on someone that exercised free will then discovered they were wrong? Wouldn't your loving lord be pleased with another convert, or are you confused between being Christian and following Christ's teachings, or following that of Jehovah in the old testament?

c) why in the world do you think athiests would think anything other than: "Here is yet another idiot trying to get me to believe in things I don't, even after I've said I don't."

Why do athiests get so pissed at Christians? Because of the exact crap you just put up there. "UR gona die stewpid. U dont buleve in Gawd." It's annoying when someone hides behind a book and can't argue logic without falling back on hellfire. It's even more annoying when that person can't even figure out which God they're following from the two books that make up one.

*rolls eyes*

I enter this section of Yahoo Answers because I am interested in religion and spirituality as a whole. This section isn't just for Christians. I don't like your story at all however. I don't believe in God, but if I did I don't think he would turn his back on the souls he created. How could someone omnibenevolent really sentence someone to an eternity of hell for making a mistake? I'm certainly not scared christians are right. Have you ever heard the saying " I know there ain't a heaven, but I pray there ain't a hell."?

You had me until the guy went to hell. The problem is your story comes from the standpoint that there is a god and I choose not to believe in him.

I come from the standpoint that there are no god(s), based on the fact that there is no evidence to prove it's existence.

To answer your question. I come to "your" section to educate theists about atheism since most theists have no idea about atheism. Only what they've heard from others. Plus, there is no atheist section.

I personally was born atheist (without faith in things that there is no evidence of, as everyone is), taught about god through catholicism, and "born again" atheist for 20 years.

Great answer proudstud.

Have a nice night.

This is the sort of threat that turns me off utterly. "Believe like we do or suffer eternally!" "Kiss my ring or else off to the lake of fire you go!" Talk about arrogance...

Seriously, do you really think that your God's ego is so tender that he considers enternal punishment for lacking faith in the face of zero evidence to be just?

Did you have a question or did you just want to preach? No one can possibly know for sure what lies after death. The most anyone can do is believe fervently. Your no doubt passionate belief notwithstanding, there is no evidence of an afterlife of any kind.

Do I hope there is one? Kinda. Do I think it's anything like your God-revenge fantasy? No way.

As for why I'm here: The general public has some seriously erronius ideas about atheists and non-christians in general. I'm here to shed some light on peoples ignorance (ignorance that is, in more than a few cases, deliberate).

I say, good for you. People have a choice to believe or not believe, but have no right to cut down the people who do. It's like their life's mission is to discredit anyone who believes in any form of God or higher power. Thumbs up.

I have a better one.
Once upon a time there was a man who believed in the Judeo-Christian God. He dedicated his entire life to God and accomplished nothing. He died. There was no God, and he had contributed nothing to society.

The end.

I agree 100% with you. Why else would they come to this site. They are scared that they may be wrong, and are hoping to get something that will back up their beliefs. Instead, they are getting their fears built up. So, lets keep it up, and maybe we can get a few to question themselves. I mean, that is a pretty big risk. There is SO MUCH proof that what the Bible says is true. What PROOF do they have that their ideas are true? None!!
