Okay, it's obvious why I can't grow out my hair past my shoulders. I can't seem to part with my beloved straightener. It's completely dried out my hair. Anyway, is there a system out there that I can use that will wane me away from the straightener and give my hair a chance to grow back out? I've tried only using it once a week, but uh...I can't even wear my hair the way I want to... which is down. Most beauticians say it's not good to always wear ponytails, is there an option that I'm missing?

Okay take it from me. Don't put perms in your hair for like 2 or 3 months. Keep it hanging at all times(no ponytails). Take vitamins everyday. Do not blow dry nor flat iron your hair. Let your hair always air dry. While it's air drying(constantly grease your hair and wet it). Also brush it. Use Do Gro grease and the moisturizer in a medium size bottle(twice a day). Get your hair trimmed every 2 weeks. Let your hair all over when you go to bed(do not tie up). Keep away from hair dyes and rinses(chemicals also). My hair grew drastically after all these things. I continue to use. I get complements on how well my hair grew. After 2 months you will have at least 2 or 3 inches of new growth and then you can perm it.

All of the prior suggestions are good ones. Also, look for products that moisturize and condition the hair (they should contain glycerin, aloe vera, etc). The best suggestion I've gotten, however, was to wear a drawstring ponytail. Your hair is protected from the elements and from styling (just don't pull your hair back too tightly). I've been wearing one for about 18 months now and my hair is almost halfway down my back. All the best.

gURL i AM goint to tell u the trick. You want ever have to use ur straighter AGAIN SERIOUSLY!!!!!!!!!

**Okay if you want to wear ur hair down do this***
* Wash your hair, then sqeeze out the excess water, run the towel over it but dont dry your hair it needs to be still wet for this to work right. okay then you spray setting lotion on it and wrap you hair while its wet and has setting lotion on it. Tie it up in a wrap scarf, which u can buy at a local beauty supply store and let it dry. You may want to do this at night so when u wake up in the morning it will be dry. Then u just comb out your wrapped hair and I guarantee it will look as if you had used the straightener. this can last at least a week or two. but at night you'll have to wrap your hair before you go to bed. You dont have to wash it again or spray setting lotion. just wrap it.

*** I learned this about three years ago and my hair has even grown from being wrapped at night. Wrapping it helps it to grow.. No lie my hair has grown at least 5 inches..

** This is perfect for our hair*(*

GIRL i had the same problem with my hair it just would NOT grow I go the salon every month. You can get a perm and ask them to put in a treatment, leave the perm in for 2 weeks, after to weeks get a wash, and after that week get another wash. Whenur hair gets bushy again then that will let you know that you cant stay lookin a hot mess time for a perm girl.Just follow the same procedure when your gets bushy. or if u want a cream for ur hair click here http://www.doogro.com/

Hair loss affects both men and women. Here are some natural remedies that can help boost hair growth: https://bitly.im/aMJyQ While genetics plays a role, there are other factors, including: hormonal imbalances, an underactive thyroid gland, nutrient deficiencies and insufficient scalp circulation.

ive been trying to grow my hair out also. what i do is i go to my beautician every week and she does my hair and it grows really fast! i get perms, but if you dont that doesnt mean that u have to start gettin them. just get it washed and done regularly, dont wear ponytails as much because it breaks off your hair. when you swim wet your hair first because it stops your hair from breaking off in the pool and afterwards. dont curl, flat iron, etc. so much. thats about all the advice i can give. keep it hydrated!!!

Ive been trying to grow out my hair for years and its not working. but im thinking of trying something new i read about it in a magazine so it should work. First you should get your ends reguarly trimed, to get rid of dead, spilt ends so your hair can grow without breaking off. Then you should stop using thin elastics, it puts to much pressure on invidual hairs causing breakage, use wide cotton elastics. Then if you use alot of heat styling such as a hot comb, flat iron or blow dryer that is also causing damage to your leading to hair breakage. Before you use a heat styling product spray hair with a heat protectant spray to prevent damage. If you color your hair wait 4-6 weeks between colorings and use a kit with gloss to prevent breakage. If your overly stressed out or have to much anxiety it leads to hair loss so if your stressed i recommend doing a relaxing activity such as yoga or taking a bubble bath. You should also try a daily multivitamin to ensure your hair has all the nutrients it needs to grow. Also you should keep it healthy by deep conditioning it once a with a deep conditioner with vitamins and minerals. Shampoo and Condition your hair regurally. I know us black women cant wash our hair everyday so try doing it every 2 or 3 weeks, thats what helps me. Use a conditioner with silicones to keep hair soft such as dove intense moisture conditioner. Finally, since your hair is mostly made up of proteins you should eat 2 servings of protein daily to grow out your hair. I hope this helps! Good Luck!

Don't over do it, meaning don't fry, dye, and over stress your hair with relaxers, and all these crazy hair styles. Use Jojoba oil from a natural , or health food store. If you do relax your hair, don't do it all the time, use a hot comb in between relaxers. Use rollers istead of curling irons all the time. Wash reagulary, and use less products.
