I have been dating a woman for 5 months, I have been seperated from my wife for almost a year, we have decided for a dissolution to save some money. I have drawn all the papers up but she will not sign. The woman I date is getting upset that I am not divorced yet, I feel that I am just married on paper because I love this woman I cant help my soon to be X is dragging her feet.

I would recomend that you and your current girlfriend confront your soon to be x about the divorce. I know that this could be a dangerous situation depending on how high the emotions could run but explain to your girl that you love her and want nothing more than to be married to her and to be rid of the x and tell her that the only way that you can prove that you are not the one holding things up is to make her a part of it. Tell her you do not mean to start a fight and you hope that she can keep her composure but if she has a better idea on how you can prove it then you are willing to do it. You may have to go the expensive way and just get a divorce but the one saving grace is if the judge that you get finds that she did not do what was need to go through with the dissolution he could force her to pay for the entire divorce by finding her actions malicious. Good luck and talk to an attorney.

file the papers, get a court date. filing fees are not too expensive for happiness and closure. that will show your serious. attorneys are only needed if there are disputes over custody or division of property. take the action to move forward. your soon to be ex will have to respond.

tell your g/f to suck it up.. you know it won;t work out long term anyway, and she should know better to go with a still married guy.
