My parents pay taxes and i never hear them complaining and saying oh these dumb illegals taking my money away. I think that its good that students have classes like ESL because they get to learn english and they will soon be residents or american citizens plus some people who were born here were taken to mexico as a baby and came back at 14, 15 and dont know english and they get to learn english, so it benefits every student. I really dont know what to think if people are saying they should learn english but they dont want them to learn it in their ESL class because they take money from the taxes. I know ALOT of white people or to say americans getting free lunch gettting food stamps begging for money on the entrance of the freeways and im like y dont they go and look for jobs because they can just like an illegal can get a job to survive so can the homeless.

I am ashamed to say this, but when I talk bad about illegals, I spell it out when I am around my kids. Your parents dont want you to see the bad side of them and they want to think positively so you will do the same. The other thing could be they are on or had been on welfare. If there income is not high enough, then they might not take care of what they get from the government. An average illegal only pays 1500. to the IRS if any, the average american pays 2300.00. If you have more than one to two children then you usually take more than you put into the pot. Its just simple economics. Its not the american way to use government services, we dont expect it and we dont like people who say...'why doesnt the government pay for it' or I pay taxes, you should pay for me to learn english,,or 'I came here illegal but I work hard''''Just because you work hard doesnt mean you didnt break the law. ITs kinda like saying yea I work heard, but you white people dont. If we didnt, then amerian would go to the dogs.

Our people are supposed to be getting help if they need it. That is why the programs exist. The point is that they should be the ONLY ones getting it.

Education is very expensive. However, the much worse problem is that the funds for our services are drained, and the services like education are degraded for our own people. ESL is hugely expensive. If they are here they need it, and if they are here legally, I want them to have it. However if they are here illegally, they are stealing the money and teacher attention for that expensive program from my children, who are citizens.

And that isn't right.

The point is that people think if they are illegal, they shouldn't be here. It is against the law for them to be here, and there is a reason why it is against the law. There are too many.

But you don't pay taxes, so why should you understand?

If the school is busy teaching ESL, then there is no time to teach the regular students all the subjects they need. This is howcome California ranks 48 out of 50 states in education at the K-12 level; they don't teach anything except English, and you need sckence, math, geography, literature, music, art and even PE to be successfully educated.

I feel the same way as you do. My mom teaches free english classes to minorities. One thing I think is really hard Americans need to think of is learning English is one thing but learning to write it is another thing. I can speak spanish but I cannot write it to save my life and I know its the same way with some hispanics/other minorities. I am korean and I am torn with this issue also. If I go to Mexico if I want to survive I speak spanish and if I want to survive in Korea I speak Korean.

ah, once again the rantings of a child who heard her parents talking one day, perhaps, over coffee, and then decided to parrot those words and try to sound smart. Well honey, this forum is a little too grown up for you, you need to be able to understand the world and think for yourself before you can start asking and answering intelligently. so until then, go get your bottle and teddy bear and go play so the adults can talk

I can tell by your question, that YOU don't pay taxes! And, i highly DOUBT that your parents are here legally,so they would not even pay taxes. No wonder they 'don't mind' illegals being here. The only thing they probably pay,are sales tax.

Are YOUR parents here legally???? EVERY tax paying citizen that I know, is very ANGRY at having to pay EXTRA money, for people who have broken our laws,AND for and their kids!!!!
And,you know what, maybe there ARE some American kids getting free lunches, but at least THEY are here LEGALLY and deserve the help!!!!!!!!!!
