My hubby loves packaged salami, pepperoni, beef jerky, and the school boxed Punch or KoolAid drinks. The little to go drinks you add to water are great too. I sent over tons of baby wipes, medicine cuz the px there is very small and limited at most bases. Tylenol, cold medicine, and backache stuff. They need alot of things the PX doesnt carry. ALSO..If you put a piece of bread in with anything homemade,it keeps the cookies,or brownies from drying out so fast, and helps maintain moisture for them until they get there!

Lots of things. I sent beef jerky. Home make brownies and chocolate chip cookies (made into bars) I would wrap each bar separately in saran wrap. (This is so if their hands are dirty they do not need to touch the brownies and their hands do not touch the other brownies.) Or you can always buy the goodies but homemade has more meaning for me. Also I would put the bars in a separate box (inside of the box you are mailing) Nuts, Pringles potato chips. Just go to the grocery and browse. You will get ideas.

go to www.anysoldier.com they have some great suggestions on what you can and cannot send. No porn, pork, liquor stuff like that. I adopted some soldiers over in iraq and this web site was a god send. Good luck and thank your friend for me!

when sending cookies collect empty coffee cans and put them in those. That keeps them from breaking up too bad and also keeps them fresh with the plastic lid on. My husband was in Nam and would send him stupid little stuff to like suckers with faces on them or any sillly stuff like that. He always said that the rest of the guys were as anxious as he was to get a package because he never knew what to expect. It was really something for him to look forward to and took their minds off of what they were do over there.
tell him good luck and God Speed. we love him for what he is doing for all of us.
