Are there any US Car Insurance companies that will take into account my UK driving history when calculating my insurance?

I moved to San Francisco from London 5 months ago and have had a Californian license for just 2 months. This means that the insurance on my Saab Turbo is FANTASTICALLY expensive because none of the US car insurance companies are prepared to take my UK driving history into consideration - I've had a clean license for 13 years at home.

Do any car insurance companies take a more international approach?

Thanks

Jonathan

Get a copy of your no claims letter and take it to a GEICO agent. I don't know if there are any in the SF area, but there are a couple around Sacramento. They deal with a lot of GIs in that area and are familiar with UK no-claims letters. If you can get a copy of your record from the DVLA, bring it along unopened.

If you did not submit a statement of your official driving record and history from the UK along with your application, ownership records, etc., they have nothing to go on. Get your documents and try other companies.
