My Pitbull went after this guy and attcked him somehow got him to the ground and but his mouth around the guys neck and began to kill him but I stopped the Pitbull so should I

A: Keep the Pitbull? (I like my Pitbull)
B:Kill the Pitbull? (I would rather shoot it then have someone else put a needle in him to kill him)
C:Sell the Pitbull? (Could make lots of money I would sell it to like a guy who uses dogs to fight others for money because his deadly skills have to be showed)
D:Drive like 100 miles north leave the dog somewhere and go back home? (Pretty boring hopefully he will find a family)

So which A,B,C,D which should I do?

None of them. Hand it over to the authorites to kill.
I can't believe the cops didn't make you hand your dog over. Makes me wonder if you made up this whole story.
I have a hard time believing a human cares more about a crazy animal than an innocent human being.

If your pitbull almost killed someone, you should have the dog humanely euthanized. You possibly could rehabilitate the dog, but it would take a professional trainer and lots of time. If you do decide to keep the dog, please keep the dog muzzled when in public, and if not in your fenced yard, make sure the dog is on a leash. Please don't sell the pitbull. People who fight pitbulls do not take care of them. Do yo u really want to see your pitbull abused, beaten, or forced to live in a tiny cage until it is eventually mauled to a painful death by a stronger opponent. Also, aggression to people doesn't mean the dog will be aggessive to other dogs, and it puts the handler's life in danger.
Also, please don't leave the dog to fend for itself, out in the country. Chances are, the dog won't find a family. He may starve to death, or be eaten by a predator, or he might decide to attack the child walking to the school bus. I don't know about you, but I would not want that on my conscience.
The best thing for the dog would be to euthanize it (if you really feel you need to shoot your own dog, it's better that than the dog getting free and killing someone eventually) or contact a professional trainer experienced in working with aggressive dogs and work on getting your dog under control.
Hope this helps!

There are many unknown's in this story. How did your Pit Bull get out to attack this guy to begin with? There will probably be charges pressed against you and the dog. Unfortunately the state may force you to put the dog down. It may not even be your decision anymore. I would be concerned about being sued. I would also be concerned that your dog may attack someone else and this time succeed in killing them. I have 4 pits of my own and it's irresponsible dog owners like you that are giving this breed such a bad name. Keep a better eye on your dog! If it comes down to you having to put the dog down, the HUMANE way would be to have it euthinized. It is way nicer than SHOOTING YOUR DOG!! If you love your dog you shouldn't even be thinking of shooting it.

b, but this Pitt is either:
A: insane
B: sinced that this dude had a type of drug on him
C: If you bought this dog from the pound (might of been an abandoned fighting dog).
D: Just not worthy of excistence
I hate putting dogs to sleep, (Or in your case shooting it like Old Yeller) but it's either putting it to it's death, or putting someone else to his/hers death. And I'm sure that man will sue you it was hard to put my dog to sleep, but I think you should do the right thing. Spend some time with it, spoil it rotten until you know when the time is right. I'm sorry about your dog, either way, YOU should decide the dog's fate. Cause asking a couple of strangers about a dog you love, is (no affence) but inmature, you should know this dog well enough to decide.

Well, for one... option C is just a bunch of crap. If you would really consider doing that than you have no business having the dog to begin with...... Anyways, I guess it depends on if the guy is going to press charges. If he does they might order the dog to be turned over. If he doesn't press charges than I think you need to take it to a shelter, because none of your options are very responsible. I'm sorry but I think you just might be one of those people that help give pit's a bad name. If I didn't have my pit, boxer and shepard I would offer to take it but I live on a military base and can't have anymore pets. I hope you can make an adult decision.

Why did he attack the guy? Is this a pattern with your pit? There are alot of things to know before you make that decision. If you have to put him down then do it humanely. Take him to your vet and have him put to sleep. What if you shoot him and you don't kill him and he has to suffer while you do it again. They will let you be with him while they give him the shot. And then you can say your good-bye and your dog can die laying in your lap. Would you rather have that last memory to be a good one than of you having to shoot him and watch him die bleeding and looking at you like " Why did you do this to me"???

YOu have no business owning animals. The dog needs to be put down. Once they have gotten a taste for blood, they will never be safe around people again. And make sure to have him put down with a needle. Shooting him, you might miss or just wound him and then he suffers. And if you condone dog fights, you should be put down yourself.

If this is a true story. With all the media attention expect to get sued. And expect your home owners insurance to go up.

None of the above. Take him to the humane society and have him put to sleep.

If you insist on keeping him send him to dog training school immediately.

why would you ask this? I own a Pit and love him very much. If your dog did do this your statements clearly show why he did. you do not sound like a owner that should have a goldfish much less a dog. and i am not trying to sound mean just truthful. If your dog did this. it is your job as a responsible owner to put the dog down. anything else is irresponsible and only shows why the BSL's are winning in this country. I hope you are proud of yourself.

answer D is stupid and would not solve anything...I am a pitt owner and I know that these dogs just have a higher level of aggression and are aggravated more easily...but this is just due to their breeding, with aggression being a desirable trait...I think you should sell the dog to someone who is experienced with the breed and can handle it...I personally feel that you should not kill the dog b/c it was only being an animal...I know of ppl who have dozens of ferocious pitts and they know how to handle the animal...this is why these dogs are banned in some cities in America...the tendencies for pitts to bite comes with the territory of owing one.
