We inherited it from the first parents, Adam & Eve. We're all sinners born with a sin nature.

The Bible is clear through one man (Adam) sin entered into the world. The blood line has been past down to everyone born through their fathers with the exception of Jesus whose father is GOD. Jesus was the only man who was born without a sin nature so that He could redeem all mankind from their sin. For those who accept this gift and believe in Jesus their sin is covered. Now, just because it is covered does not mean that the believer continues in that sin. They are to strive to be like Christ as much as they can.

Catholics call this the effects of Original Sin.
Here is one way to describe Original sin.
The paradise in which God created the human race was a place where all people lived in complete holiness. They loved God with all their heart, with all their soul, and with all their mind. They loved their neighbors as much as they loved themselves.
Then the first humans disobeyed the commandment of God, choosing to follow their own will rather than God's will. This was the Original Sin.
As a consequence the first human beings lost the grace of original holiness, and became subject to the law of death; sin became universally present in the world.
Besides the personal sin of the first human beings, original sin describes the fallen state of human nature which affects every person born into the world. Therefore we are not responsible for Original sin but we are affected by it.
It was this fallen state from which Christ, the "new Adam," came to redeem us. Jesus makes paradise available to us again and teaches us how to live there, "You shall love the Lord, your God, with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. You shall love your neighbor as yourself."
With love in Christ.

Imagine the system of slavery. The son of a slave was not born free but was a slave. his child was also born a slave all the way down through generations. Adam was the original sinner and so all of the generations after him were also born in the slavery of sin down to today BUT one who was without sin came into the world, paid the price of our freedom from the old master and brought us to the new master and then set us free. It was called redemption and I have been redeemed. Oh I still sin because the old nature of Adam is still in my flesh but I've been bought free and will soon get rid of that old nature and take on that of my new master.

The actual word "Sin" I believe is described in your standard dictionary as 'a transgression of a religious or moral law especially when deliberate'...
This tells me sometime ago people, beings with "GODness" in their heart came together and formulated some pretty good and practical guides for humans living much happier together. They must have thought it out very well because these rules still work very well today.
We being curios, intelligent and creatures with a great sense of selfishness. Have decided we want to try it all...the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly. So we brake the rules because it feels good for the moment...but of course does us more harm in the long run of life.

galations chapter 5 verse 17 best explains this. ever see the cartoons with the little angel on one guys shoulder and the little devil on the other? well thats about 75% true but they left something out there isnt 3 parts to this there is 4. of course you have the spirit of God repersiented by the angel you have the devil repersenting the devil of cours and then there is you trying to listen to the advice these to figures are giving. well the part they left out which is the 4th part is the flesh. if you read that verse of scripture you will see that it says the flesh lusteth against the spirit and that these 2 are contrary to each other. the flesh automatically will desire to do anything that is contrary to Gods word or will. so when ya step back and look at it in full view then here it is the devil knows the weakness of the flesh and he tempts it some people its with material things or with the opposite sex or gluttony whatever but he knows that is a weakness and he tempt your flesh not you but your flesh and because the flesh is contrary to the spirit then you have a strong desire to partake of that temptation. but then God steps into the picture and warns you of the mistake your about to make now you have a decision to make you flesh wants to do one thing but the spirit doesnt now you have to decide go with God or go against God? ya know you have to remeber that when God created adam and eve he didnt create them for the purpose of sinning. he said that they was good. so our nature isnt to sin, and neither was adams or eves it wasnt until satan tempted eve and then later adam followed suit that sin became known its all in the flesh the body wants to destroy itself the flesh rebels against God but its up to us to bring our flesh under subjection and control it not it control us when it controls us then we sin but if we control it we dont but the only way we can control it is with the holy spirit and the only way you can get the holy spirit is jesus christ.

It is not in our nature to sin. It is in our nature to have a choice, and we are often selfish and we select the wrong thing because we are seeking self-fulfillment rather than eternal fulfillment. The bottom line is satan knows your weaknesses, sometimes better than you do. Satan will tempt you, the challenge is to say NO. But to say no you have to be aware of the tricks that he has thrown before you. In addition, once you say no, satan will leave you alone for a while, he will watch you for another weakness and tempt you again. It is a cycle. That is why we are all sinners because you learn as you grow in FAITH.

Agh, another believer. There are many people in the world that have a different reason for 'sinning' for example, let's take stealing. If you were a cop who caught a burglar and you asked the burglar why he stole something, he'd probably say something like: 'It's for my family', or 'I was broke' ec cetera. And don't get me started on killers and rapists. There's the key word in there called DESIRE. They want to do what they did, much like sinners want to sin, and therefore is your answer.

Because humans invented the concept of sin then created religion as a way to eliminate it. Really though, outside of what you can logically see is wrong sin is all opinion not a defined line. so it's in our nature to be an animal like we are, desire and aversion are really the center of all "sin" I'd say, so eliminate them and you'd be happier, but then you'd also be a buddhist.

Because when Adam and Eve were created, they ate of the tree they were not supposed to, and after that, there was a curse, and everyone was born to sin
