Benny Hinn, Oral Roberts, Kenneth Copeland, Kenneth Hagin, Norvel Haze, Marilyn Hickey, and others (Forgive me if I mis-spelled any names) have ALL gotten to be MILLIONAIRES through this falsehood!
The one and only goal of this doctrine is to rape the ignorant and gullable!
Christ came to bring life, and that more abundantly- is a true quote, but it is purposedly taken out of context and used to inspire greed. The only reason to "sow" into their "ministries" is to get!
GREED!
But the only ones who GET are the "ministers"
Christians, especially in the USA, are purposely ignorant of what the Bible says!
What about the scriptures that teach that LIFE DOES NOT CONSIST OF ALL THAT A MAN POSSESES?
I guess the abundant life would not be many possessions then would it?
The Bible tells us, in Timothy, to watch out for false doctrines. Modern Christians (if it is even right to call them that), by and large, do not even know where the books of Timothy are.
The Bible teaches us that the greatest will be servents. but these frauds and false teachers/brothers are not serving anyone!
The one good thing (not for them at any rate) that will come to pass is this:
they will have the answer, first hand to this question
What profits a man to gain the world and lose his soul?

Most times I feel very sad and I guess disappointed. As a young kid, I used to believe that when churches collected money just randomly, they were going to give it to the poor.
Then I went to my neighbor's wedding and the whole church was decked out in diamond chandeliers and carpet. The whole concept sickens me. Just think, if every chuch was reduced in size by half and they took that money and actually donated it like the "Good Book" says, think of all the good that would come of it.
As for God blessing me, same effect as if I pay a three-year-old 2 cookies, her imaginary friend Emily will help me win the lottery. Utterly ridiculous

Philippians 1: 15. Some indeed preach Christ even of envy and strife; and some also of good will:
16. the one do it of love, knowing that I am set for the defence of the gospel;
17. but the other proclaim Christ of faction, not sincerely, thinking to raise up affliction for me in my bonds.
18. What then? only that in every way, whether in pretence or in truth, Christ is proclaimed; and therein I rejoice, yea, and will rejoice.
I struggled with the whole tithing thing for years. Then I started attending my current church. Here, I have seen love in action. For instance, our church paid for a man to spend an entire year in a bible school/rehab so he could grow in Christ and become free of the bonds of alcohol. I have seen them go out of their way to help others as well. The revelation I have gained is that for all those years, my struggle wasn't with should I or shouldn't I tithe. It was with why I tithed. I now do it because seeing people growing stronger is itself the blessing.
As far as various evangelist, only God knows their heart. Some are nothing but con-artist... others are sincere and truly called of God to do what they do. Remember, even King David blew it, so falling doesn't always equal phoney. I do know that the ones I listen to all tell you to "Pray and see what God would have you to do." That is a huge difference from, "God told me to tell you to send me your money."

most people associate sowing with money, and in this day and time that is what the TV Evangelist ask for not because they want your money for themselves,it takes a lot of money to do a weekly show and they are broadcast all over the world,I'd hate to think what they have to pay,and they don't have commercials ,so they in order to stay on do ask for money, but if I'm watching and i enjoy the program, then i should help them to keep coming on

I think they are teaching humanism, which is not from God.
God never promised a ton of money and a life without care, he only said that when trials came, we would never be alone, he is with us. as for sowing money in their ministry, they make it sound like God is poor and needs funds, he doesn't need us or our money, WE need him. and he is far from being poor.
ya know, if God wants someones ministry to prosper, he will provide without you asking.

You're getting taken for a ride. It's all part of the club mentality that turned me off of religion. It seems they believe that if you donate more money to the church you have the upper hand on God.

We cannot manipulate God by giving Him what is already His. People who do this kind of thing will answer to God for their greed. If you only give to God so you can get more....that's wrong. If you give to god because you love Him....well, that's another thing...! Ministers who demand of their followers are on dangerous ground. Giving is to come from the heart.... and to be given with joy, not by compulsion. If the giver gives his gift with a pure heart, in innocense... God will bless him... but the receiver who demands it will be judged by God for his greed.

I believe that this has been overrated and use as a technique to raise money for the church. When I hear a church use this technique, I do not go back. I also believe in karma what goes around comes around but do not sale me faith.

When I hear those words I suddenly think they are trying to rip me and others off. I don't go to church but was baptized a Seventh Day Adventist many years ago.
