I have kind of bad allergies, and the doctor has seen my throat before but I don't know if he is any good because he usually doesn't look at my throat when I see him for allergies. I have had the bumps for years. They are not small, and they are red...I don't know if it's my allergies, if its normal, or if its time for a new doc. Thanks. I am not looking for a diagnosis, just is this normal?

Does not sound normal. But with post nasal dripping, the throat can become red. Is your throat sore? If red streaks develop, RUN to the nearest medical facility for you could have a strep throat.

It sounds somewhat like strep.

When you go to the Doctor. Make a list of everything wrong with you and check each one off as your discuss and resolve it.

Doctors are educated not mind readers. He has to hear your problems so he can put together the symptoms for a diagnosis.

Good luck in resolving the problem.

Are they always there or do they come and go? I think that if your doctor is not looking at your throat during a physical exam then he is not very thorough. It might be time to find a new doctor that you are more comfortable and trusting of.
