A recent article on livescience.com says that the U.S. ranks next to last in understanding genetics and accepting Evolution. Why is that? It's very easy to understand. First you have to look at "Artifical" selection, which is something humans do.

Just look around you right now at dogs, cats, cows and even wheat and corn. There are hundreds of different variety of these organisms. We encouraged one type and discouraged another. In just a few thousands years, look at the variety of life.

Now if such a change happened in that short of time, just imagine what happens when "Natural" selection, a process that takes BILLIONS of years. Look around at all of the beauty of the natural world. Evolution is right in front of you. It's up to you to accept it or not.

Most modern religions will not allow you to accept this. So which is wrong, Science or religion? If we claim to be the most intelligent species on the planet, we must accept the discoveries made by Science.

Darwinian Evolution is hard to accept because there isn't enough evidence to support it, in fact the complete opposute is true. Even though evolution is still taught in school only 9% of the population believes in it. I guess that means we have some very intelligent people in the United States. Darwinian evolution is still only a theory, it has never been proven, and thanks to modern science it is now being disproven. It takes far more faith to believe in Darwinian evolution than it does to believe in creation and intelligent design. There is a lot more evidence for creation and intelligent design than there is for Darwinian evolution. A lot of people believe in the theory of Darwinian evolution because they were (and are still being) taught this theory in school. This theory should no longer be taught in school now that modern science is continueously finding more evidence against it. At the time Darwin came up with the theory science was not able to disprove it. Darwin's theory of evolution has not been proven.

Scientific evidence casts serious doubts on the theory of evolution, for example:

Well evolution is a competing FAITH!

I will explain:

Both evolution and Theistic views violate the laws of physics:
Matter can neither be created nor destroyed.

So where did it all come from? Either it WAS created or it was always there! Both stances NEED faith to believe in either side!

Regardless how much the evolution side likes to pooh-pooh the anit-evolutionists science, they cannot entirely. There are too many things against it
Cosmic dust is one. It is both constant and measurable. if the earth and moon were BILLIONS of years old, our oceans would be muddy swamps and the moon would be covered in many MILES of dust, not in the few inches our astronauts encountered.

I will not mention others, but there are HUNDREDS, if not thousands, of proofs (If that is the correct term) against evolution (as currently and formerly, presented).

Playing with a near infinite options and circumstances (assumming, as evolutionists do) some desired outcome, MIGHT have happened.

But the mere accidental (because it was, by definition, not directed) arrangements of atomic and molecular materials, STILL would not account for LIFE!

If, by some chance, all the atoms and molecules formed a perfect amoeba, what would give it life?

Fatih is called upon on both sides. they are mutually exclusive. that is why it is SO HARD, as you put it, for Christians to accept evolution, just as it is equally hard for evolutionists to accept that GOD did it all.

I can disprove human evolution, it's in the blood.
Any species that evolves, would have the same most occurring blood type right? Even more true would be the same species. A rose can evolve, but you still have a rose, albeit a changed one.
The human species most common blood type is O.
The apes most common bloodtype is B
The chimps most common bloodtype is A.

Apes and chimps have almost no occurances of O.
If we evolved from them, why wouldn't our most precious life source evolve with us?

This is science. This has been tested using the same human system of blood typing, as the same unit of measurement.

For any other animal that you would like to try to say that humans evolved from, I could quote you their test results as well. All species have variances, but the most common, or frequent occurance, holds steady as a constant.

Not to mention, that for every thing that is created, their must be a creator.
We believe we were created by a devine creator, and that would be, The Great, "I AM"!

Here's a scientific fact for you...put all thee intrinsic info regarding our existence such as DNA, the universe, planets, earth, water etc. into the most advanced computer and request the odds of 'nothing' working it's way up to us. Sorry I can't be precise-I should have taken notes-but it's something like eternity to the %%th degree. Another fact--Christians don't dispute scientific discoveries or science. Like the Professor who is a leading specialist in pollens in the study of the Shroud of Turin as just one example. Re: 'natural selection' or 'survival of the fittest', where does the sheep come in or the penguin or gerbil? Another fact: evolutionists have NEVER won a debate with creationists, but obviously that's debatable.

I can accept that Evolution is an explanation of how life started on this planet, but I haven't the faith to close my eyes and say 'these human scientists have at last discovered the ultimate truth' and stop searching. For us to stand here, with all that history behind us, and say that we've GOT IT RIGHT (as we have done so many times) is silly. 200 years in the future we will singing a different tune as we always do. Science is not a definite, it is always changing, as humans grasp one concept at a time. There are just so many unknowns about our origins. I prefer to put my faith in God, keeping in mind that He is the greatest scientist of all, and that all these findings merely give praise to Him. But I shall not stand in the way of others who wish to put their faith in something they can see and understand. Now, if I'm wrong, I lose nothing. If I'm right, I gain everything.

My faith in God does not forbid me to accept any scientific advance. God certainly has nothing against science. After all, God created science.
Evolution is certainly a possibility. Of course, there is much to be discovered before we can classify it as a "fact".
Science is always changing...today's answers may not be appropriate for tomorrow's questions, and that is fine. That is as it ought to be.
If we are, truly, so intelligent, we ought to understand that we aren't even close to knowing how the universe, including life, actually came to be.
The conflict isn't really between God and Science...rather it is between arrogant theologians who think they know it all, and big-headed scientists, who are sure that they do.
If we are going to claim to be the most intelligent species on the planet, it is time for us to admit that we have one hell of a lot to learn. Neither "religion" nor "science" is an arrival, but rather, the beginning of the journey...
And there is nothing wrong with that, either.

It's not. The Grand Portal is the prime achievement that awaits humanity in the last quarter of the 21st century. It will be the irrefutable discovery of the human soul by authoritative science. This Grand Portal will usher in a new awareness for humanity that will enable it to shift from a survival-based, mind-body energy system, to an exploratory-based, mind-soul energy system. This exploratory energy system will manifest the belief system of the Sovereign Integral; the Golden Age long prophesied.

The natural world is very beautiful. I agree. But where did everything START??? why aren't dogs changing into cats and cats changing into rats??? that's basic evolution right??? why dosn't a kitten suddenly form on the floor infront of me if everything 'just' started????

The starting point is GOD. U have to accept that

Because its such a stupid idea. If someone would to just think about it for a second... Everything does NOT come from Nothing! What is so hard about that?

Valiant attempt. But apparently we're only supposed to believe OLD books, not new ones.

Why continue to bang your head against the wall? Let them (as long as they're not killing people in the name of their god) believe whatever they want. They will continue to enjoy the benefits that come from scientific advances, and continue to deny science. Yeah it's a shame, but apparently it makes them happy. Thankfully, when it comes to getting medical attention for their children, or something important like that, most of them DO put their "faith" in science.

Wow, that first answer didn't get any further with me than the second line.

Anwho...
I heard a thought once that kinda makes both theories work together.

God created life.
Evolution created man.

Think about that one.
