Well that all depends. Is it in a water bottle with a cap on it or is it in just a cup with an open top?
I would say that if its in a water bottle that has a lid to it then you are good to keep it there for longer then 1 week. but if its in a cup with an open top. then you might want to change that nightly!!!

Each time you take a sip you exchange bacteria and food particles. These bacteria continue to reproduce, feeding off the food particles and each other. The result can be nothing or a bad case of food poisoning. If you don't mind taking chances, find out for yourself. Otherwise, also use fresh clean water every time.

To be sure microbes are breeding in that water. Depending on the temperature of your room there could be hundreds, maybe thousands. Assuming you have a source of fresh water, why not make it routine to just take a fresh glass with you each night to the bedroom and return it to the kitchen in the morning?
It is also not a good idea to take vitamins at night, really. You should take them with food because they absorb better that way.

It's possible that you could get sick from some kind of bacteria. If you notice your bottle turning a different color (like pink a certain type of bacteria that lives in moist environments especially bathtubs) get a new bottle. On the other hand, it doesn't take that much to get a new bottle of water every night.

There's a possibility that bacteria from your lips, mouth, or the air could have settled in the water, and may cause you to be ill. The chances aren't amazingly high -- but, it takes a total of thirty seconds to run to the sink and grab a fresh glass of water.

If it's opened, it might take days or hours, depending on what you put into it. If you remove the cap, don't backwash and put the capback on, you could make the bottle last a week - but, ideally you should drink a bit more with pills...take a good mouthful each time and finish the bottle in 3-4 days.

don't worry about it. I remember doing that once in a while while I took my tetracycline when I was a teenager. I was too lazy to get out of bed to get a fresh glass of water, and I took the nearest glass of water on my bedpost. Yeah, it is gross, but just don't make it a habit.

if you have a lid on the bottle when your not drinking from it, there shouldn't be anything that will make you sick. Even an open bottle won't kill you but it will taste pretty stale and have lots of dust and otehr things in it.

You could become very sick if flies, mosquitoes, moths or spiders decide to have a poo in there!
