The case of the "unpardonable sin / unforgivable sin" or "blasphemy of the Holy Spirit" in the New Testament is mentioned in Mark 3:22-30 and in Matthew 12:22-32. The term blasphemy may be generally defined as "defiant irreverence." We would apply the term to such sins as cursing God or willfully degrading things relating to God. It is also attributing some evil to God, or denying Him some good that we should attribute to Him. This case of blasphemy however is a specific one, called "the blasphemy against the Holy Spirit" in Matthew 12:31. In Matthew 12:31-32 the Pharisees, having witnessed irrefutable proof that Jesus was working miracles in the power of the Holy Spirit, claimed instead that the Lord was possessed by the demon "Beelzebub" (Matthew 12:24). Now notice that in Mark 3:30 Jesus is very specific about what exactly they did to commit "the blasphemy against the Holy Spirit."
This blasphemy then has to do with someone accusing Jesus Christ (in person, on earth) of being demon-possessed. There are other ways to blaspheme the Holy Spirit, but this was "THE" blasphemy that was unpardonable. This means that this unpardonable sin against the Holy Spirit cannot be duplicated today because Jesus Christ is not on earth but seated at the right Hand of God; however, the Holy Spirit still accomplishes supernatural things through His servants. Although there is no unpardonable sin today, we should always keep in mind there is an unpardonable state-the state of continued unbelief. There is no pardon for a person who dies in unbelief. Remember, John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have eternal life." The only condition when someone would have no forgiveness is if that someone is not among the 'whoever believes in Him.'"

1. giving credit to the devil for the works of the Holy Spirit YOU KNOW HE DID.
2. Speaking evil of the Holy Spirit
Both fall in the category of blasphemy.

When Jesus was accused of having a devil (or demon, in modern speak) he told this:
blasphemy against the father or son is forgivable but not against the Holy Spirit.
He said this because they said he had a devil
Calling the Holy Spirit evil or His works demonic or evil is blasphemy of Him.
I fear for the Baptist Church, as there official doctrine is that speaking in tongues (a gift of the Holy Spirit) is of the devil

It only really exists in one case. Priests lying down with children. Please not make a mountain out of my question as many other faiths have this same problem, it just seems that it is politically correct to only point this out in the Catholic religion. I am sure that others have a different opinion of blasphemy. However, just your question of about blasphemy would be considered blasphemy by certain religions. Okay let forget this bullshit I am talking about. What is the true meaning of blasphemy? One must answer this question before they can answer yours. I am afraid that you will have better luck throwing dull darts at balloons in a carnival to win the ultimate blasphemy stuffed religious toy.

I believe you are asking what the unforgivable sin is.
Luke chap. 12 v.10-12 The unforgivable sin is when you are delivered up before the anti-Christ that is to say the false Christ. If at that time you refuse to let the holy spirit to speak through you.
You see although many Christians do not know this; Satan is going to come first before Jesus does and Satan is going to try to deceive the world by showing great miracles and wonders. 2nd Thess. chap.2 . He will sit in the temple in Israel showing himself that HE is God or Christ.
God has a special porpoise for the Christians that know the truth at the time that Satan does this. We Will be brought before him in a publicized trial so he can try to convert us into believing that he is the lord,at that time the holy spirit will speak through us and not even the gainsayers will be able to resist the wisdom of the holy spirit. Luke chap.21 v.12-15
That will be the only time that it will be possible to co mitt the unforgivable sin,if we refuse to let the holy spirit speak through us.

Blasphemy of the Holy Spirit can't happen today. What happened in Jesus' time, the Pharisees said the Jesus performed His miracles by the Devil, not from God.

Certainly! In John 16:7-11 we see that the major work of the Holy Spirit is to convict people of their sins, and thereby lead them to faith in Christ. To blaspheme Him would be to ignore that conviction and never see yourself as sinful and in need of a Savior.
In other words, the only sin that is not forgiven is the sin of rejecting the forgiveness we have been offered.
When people reject Christ, they are blaspheming the Holy Spirit by rejecting His work.
