No. You have 'type ratings' which allow you to fly a certain aircraft. When you near the end of your pilot training and have been employed by an airline you undergo familiarisation with a certain aircraft. You can then go on to get type ratings with other aircraft, As far as how you do this and what it's limitations are, I can't help. NB. Qatar fly mostly Airbus and some Boeing. The cockpits of Airbus aircraft are very similar, but this is not the case for all manufacturers e.g. Boeing.

a few answeres here dont subscribe to the meaning of type...
As used with respect to the certification of aircraft, means those aircraft which are similar in design. Examples include: DC–7 and DC–7C; 1049G and 1049H; and F–27 and F–27F.

6 i flew a Cessna 152 ,172, 182 i flew a sail plane i flew in a C 130 transport plane and i flew in a passenger jet when i was 3 or so but i don't know what it was and i am looking to buy a good gyro copter to fly
