My husband bought a new convertable, and I drive the boring family car. Fine, as long as I can drive it sometimes. So, I used it the other day and pulled into the garage when I got home. The next day we all piled in to go for a ride with the top down, and my husband zoomed out of the garage without looking and his side mirror hit the post and broke. He yelled at ME, saying it was my fault for not pulling in straight enough. I say he should've looked anyways, like he should every time! Who is right?

Just so you know I read these to my husband and we both had a good laugh- thanks!
(he apologized to me too- yay, I win!)

Oh my god!! What a moron! He just got mad at you because he could not fathom doing something so incredibly stupid himself. I bet when he tells his friends the story, he puts even more blame on you. I hope you laughed at him.
Yelling at you deletes him from any wrongdoing...don't buy it.

Funny thing....same thing happened to me .... and he yelled at me and told me it was my fault! Well Sister.....I feel that it is their's for not checking both sides of the car before pulling out....I always check....because you don't always pull into the garage the same way all the time. Tell him to "BUCK UP" and take the blame..."IT WAS HIS FAULT"!!!! They just always want to be right and blame someone else for their mistakes!
Good thing he apologized! He might be paying for it later..."Hey...go out and buy yourself some "nice little ride"!

the problem is not anyone's i think. its actually the extra care he is taking for the new car which is quite obvious. whenever something new is purchased, its the human nature to become extra obsessive abt it. and i think u shld not get angry at ur husband and u shld understand that the car has been purchased after lot of investment and probably u just foregt the incident. but sometime later u just try to laugh off this issue with ur husband. and see, everything will b fine

He should have noticed it wasn't pulled in straight enough when he got in, if he drives it all the time. And anyone with common sense checks all areas while backing out. Sounds like he was in a big hurry......and now he has to get it fixed. Accidents happen!

Your husband is wrong in this one.No matter what. The driver in a situation like this is at fault. He should have taken more time and assesed the situation. Then proceeded in a fashion of confidence and caution. The driver of the vehicle is always in charge no matter how things happened before he got in the car.Have a great day.WILLIEGOGO:

It is not your fault. He is mad that he did it and it is easier to put the blame on you than admit he did it. Instead of making a big deal about it just get it fixed. You know the truth.
Good luck!

You are. He should have paid attention to how he backs out. Blaming you for his mistake only makes him look worse as a husband and shows his lack of responsibility for his own actions.

Technically, well actually, in just about every sense possible, you ARE right. But for argument's sake, tell the little baby he's right, suck it up, apologize and pray he'll let you drive it again. You know how men and their toys are!

You are right...the person driving is responsible to LOOK where he is going not expect the car to be perfectly lined up for him so he can close his eyes and drive. But it is petty. Let it go... there are worst things in life.
