Matthew 15:22-28 - http://www.newadvent.org/bible/mat015.htm
there are noteworthy points:
1) lack of mercy and love charged against Jesus (if the incident is reportedly correctly)
2) Degraded discrimination in regard to the uplifting of his tribe and not for the other (but that is the way of Christians against every other releigion)
3) Tribal pride of descendance and prejudice aainst others and calling them dogs.
4) An ignorant polytheist woman debated with and wom him over

Why was he prejudiced in the first place if he was son of god or god or whatever???
If the bible has changed over time, why do u still insist that one should worship him??

please remember that the bible changed over time from being inspired by God to being the word of God. The books were written by men just like us, and yes in their visions mixed with the times of the days, they told what they believed to be the truth. They were not God and peter never even walked with Jesus, his entire beliefs were inspired by his beliefs in God.

Yes, Jesus seems a bit hard in some of these passages.
The woman, however, was coming to him as a mother and nothing else.
She did win him over and he told her to go home and things would be cleared up in the morning basically.
If you were a doctor and had a hard week and was about to take a nice restful journey or day off, how would you feel if someone came to you about their child, but didn't bring their child. They expect you to STOP everything and chase after them.
You'd never get a moment's rest.
Jesus, at the bottom line, was Human and had human limitations.
JEsus didn't walk on water upon command.
He didn't turn water into wine on command.
He didn't heal on command.
After a while he told people to HEAL THEMSELVES.
JEsus expected us to learn how to do things for ourselves, not to bring every sick person to him for healing. He'd never have a moments rest if that happened.
Everyone has this picture of JEsus being some totally tolerantant pacifist. Yet when JEsus went into the temple and saw the roosert fights and the money lenders he got angry and turned over the tables and chased them out!
One Man can't go to all these people in a soft voice and say:Please leave this is a church a temple, not a stock market place.
They'd laugh at him.
Turn over a few tables, yell a bit and people head for the doors without thinking.
Jesus never expected Christians to be target practise for lions and gladiators in the Roman arenas. Dead Christains can's spread the word in a era of not mass publication, TV or radio.
IT is Christians who got this picture of not waving a sword and sitting there and being hit from cheek to cheek
Jesus said turn the other cheek. He didn't say become a wipping boy.
Jesus was not a door mat and he didn't want you to be a door mat.

You've totally missed the point here. First of all, Jesus was not prejudiced against the woman - He is God and He created her, so how could He be prejudiced against her? He responded to her the way he did in order to show her faith to the disciples who were with him. If he had just healed her daughter immediately without engaging her in any discussion, her great faith would not have become evident. This was a lesson for the disciples, who as faithful Jews living in an environment in which they were taught that they were the only ones who were God's people and that they should have no dealings with others, had to be shown that Christ came for the salvation of all people, and that others of the nations (the Gentiles) also had great faith.
Open your mind...

The point of this little 'story' is supposed to be that anything is possible if you have faith . The woman was a Gentile. He was rewarding her faith. This is the main thing to remember.
The clear discrimination has always bothered me too. The story's in Mark as well, or I'd discount it some way. I think it would be an interesting study to see when He changed His mind. I figured it was after the Jews rejected Him (crucified Him, in fact). God had a covenant with the Jews, etc. etc. But don't forget John 3:16. For God so loved the WORLD, SO this merits a study.

1) how could this be a lack of mercy or love? He healed the girl. He just didn't do it your way. If he had simply healed her, it would have been a demonstration of his power, but that's all. By doing it HIS way , his disciples learned that having faith would be rewarded.
2)Salvation was offered first to the Jews and then to the gentiles. This was done because it was prophesied that the Jews would reject him. Since they rejected him, we can be certain that we are just as much children of God as they. If they had not been offered salvation first they may not have rejected him.
3)Tribal pride? Jesus being God had/has no need to brag about being a Jew. Being God is enough I think. Calling them dogs ----Dogs were part of the household but not part of the family. see below.
4)A pagan humbly submitted to his authority. Go back and read it again. There is no honest way of denying her submission. She refers to him as "Son of David" meaning she recognized that he was the messiah. She begs for mercy. She calls him "Lord". She has faith that he can help her. As a pagan she would have been guilty of creating her own gods, so she has not been living as a child of this God. She accepts her symbolic position as dog. Notice that she does not argue about this. She submits to it. Since she now humbles herself, she is blessed. Many other pagans were converted after Christ's death.

Response to charge #1 - Being a Jewish Rabbi, He was forbidden by Mosaic Law to speak to this woman, so He showed to her mercy and love enough to override the Law and answer her.
Response to charge #2 - She had already humbled herself, and took no offense, as demonstrated by her continuing the conversation with the same metaphor.
Response to charge #3 - The word in the Greek translated literaly to english is 'little dogs' or 'puppies'. A couple of verse before that Jesus referred to His own people as 'sheep', which as just about anyone who has ever raised one can tell you, is about the dumbest animal on the planet. Which do you think was more degrading?
Response to charge #4 - First, this woman wasn't ignorant. She knew enough of the Hebrew faith and the prophecies of the Old Testament to call Jesus "Son of David", a Messianic title that even the Pharisees didn't catch on to. Secondly, by coming to the Jewish Messiah, she was acknowledging His authority above all things, and therefore was no longer polytheistic. Thirdly, Jesus had decided to help her before He ever responded to her, but had this discussion to show the people around them what real faith looked like, as evidenced by His statement in verse 28.
And, I would like to add, that I do not believe that speaking the positive things of Christ is the same as speaking negatively of other religions. Jesus is the one who said "I am the way, the truth, and the life; no man comes to the Father except by Me." It's not my message which I pass along, it's His Gospel.

1) Lack of mercy and love. He cured her daughter!!!
2) Jesus is obviously testing her faith here (as God he has the right to do that) He may have wanted to know if she believed he was God of all, not just of the Jews. By healing her, he proved to be God of all. I am Christian, and I have layed no charges against any group (as ironically and hypocritically, you HAVE here in your comments.. please be careful! try to spread love!)
3) The women (not Jesus) made an analogy, no one was called a dog. She was saying she was on the outside by not having worshipped the true God all her life and now she has seen Jesus and her god was a false god. She was admitting she didn't even feel worthy to sit at the table and eat with him.
4) Jesus has always welcomed debates. He is a loving father not a dictator that won't hear his people. He argues with us because he has our best interests at heart and sometime we don't. If you ever have an ailment you too can plead with God to show you his great power and mercy.
Please, please, please don't jump to conclusions. There is so much falsehood spread about Jesus because so many are afraid that it is true - he is God and has come to be savior.

I believe this story and I believe Isa [Sar Shalom] acted in this way because of the situation. As a prophet He knew clearly what His mandate was. He was a faithful messenger and spoke the truth even though it seemed hard to bare. If this story was changed by people who loved Jesus they would not have made Him look bad, would they? I have felt His healing in my own body more than once. Trust this one who loves you and who will come back soon!

22: And behold, a Canaanite woman from that region came out and cried, "Have mercy on me, O Lord, Son of David; my daughter is severely possessed by a demon."
23: But he did not answer her a word. And his disciples came and begged him, saying, "Send her away, for she is crying after us."
24: He answered, "I was sent only to the lost sheep of the house of Israel."
25: But she came and knelt before him, saying, "Lord, help me."
26: And he answered, "It is not fair to take the children's bread and throw it to the dogs."
27: She said, "Yes, Lord, yet even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their masters' table."
28: Then Jesus answered her, "O woman, great is your faith! Be it done for you as you desire." And her daughter was healed instantly.
he didn't call her a dog it was an example what was meant was he was sent to help the believers and its unfair to wast what time he had left on the unbelievers because this would betaking time away from his mission

Jesus came for the Jewish people, but, because He knew they would eventually reject Him, he also welcomed the gentiles. It first appears that He was prejudiced, then you read and learn that He healed the womans child. That's love, not prejudice.
